My great great grandmother was Jane Easton from Scotland. We know nothing about her family so it's very possible that she had a sister named Margaret, especially since the name is used in later generations. Jane married Robert Alexander McKnight and we believe they lived in either Beith or St. Quivox, Ayrshire (which is where my great grandfather, Alexander Easton McKnight was born - 1881 census shows him living with his widowed mother, Jane, in Govan). He married Agnes Moffat (born in Beith) whose mother was Elizabeth Moffat and later married John Jamieson. She had siblings John (1841) & Jeanie (1846), probably last name Jamieson, living in Beith. Elizabeth's parents were either David Moffat (born Lanarkshire) & Jean Knox OR possibly Alexander Moffat and Isabella Hunter Ewing - we're still researching this. However, my grandmother was Jane Easton Hunter McKnight so we're leaning toward the latter.
