My Grandmother Princess Parchment who was from Calabash Bay ( A part of Treasure Beach ) was a Ebanks. She married my grandfather and lived in Southfield. My grandfathers cousin also married a young lady from the same area and I am quite sure here maiden name was Hamilton. Bents and Hamiltons are all around Southfield and are related. In Southfield I only know of one Family named Myers (their homestead being about 1/4 of a mile south of the SDA Church). There are however many more in the Yardley Chase, Top Hill area. Regarding Gordon, one of my grandmothers niece married a Gordon who was from Ballards Valley.

Hi I also would like to know more about my history. I was born in the UK but my parents are both Jamaican. Up until a couple of years ago we were the only Ebanks' in our city. It's quite a unusual and rare name. My father is from Clarendon(Richmond Park I think) Jamaica and I am trying to find out who his father was. I also beleive that the name may go back to the cayman Islands but I'm not sure. Obviously it was inherited from one of the wicked slave masters at some point. It's a shame because most people can't trace their family back due to the slave trade.

My Grandparents were originally from Queensbury St Elizabeth. My Grandmother is Mernel Falconer and my Grandfather was Josclyn(Goslyn) Bent. I still have family over there. A lot of research has been done on the Falconer family tree by Paul Gifford and they can be traced back to 1400 but I don't know who the Bents were or where they came from originally.

I am an Ebanks also but the only two people that I know from the Ebanks family is my sister Andrea Ebanks which I met about three years ago (yes we still keep in touch) and my father, (yes I did say my FATHER) Laxley Ebanks, which I have never seen before but spoke to him on the phone. I Know he is from Jamaica, St. Elizabeth and he has a sister by the name of Chelsea Ebanks which is living in New York. I also live in Queens, New York and ould like is any one knows my father or his sister, please write me one the Ebanks' board or just drop me and email at audreyebanks@yahoo.com , in the subject, please put I know you Laxley Ebanks or Chelsea Ebanks so I don't think is junk email and delete it...

Thank you..
From: Audrey Ebanks.

Hi Mark:
Any Idea if your father's relatives came from the North Side of Grand Cayman or West Bay ? My line of Ebanks were from North Side. A good place for you to start is at this Cayman-Connection group's site . http://groups.yahoo.com/group/cayman-connections
dosen't cost you anything and I'm sure you will find lost's of relatives.
Are their any other Ebanks from Cayman living in South Shields besides your family? just curious I have been searching for my Grandfather's brother Albert AkA Harold Ebanks who left the Islands back in the mid 20s and never returned.
You can reply to my private e-mail deepsea@strato.net
Happy searching.
CP.

I did how ever get information from my grandmother side " Flashy" My g.grandmother was named Ivy Louise Taylor and g.grandfather was Samuel Walingford Flashy who was born in the Grand Cayman Island. My G.G.Grandmother was Sara St.Clair Taylor not sure where she is from. Maybe from the islands also. My grandmother is from Bluefields area, a couple of years ago she moved back to Managua.
On my grandmother side they also have
"Perryman"
By the way how old are you? If you don't mind me asking. Wanted to get a feel on how far you go back.
I was born in 1974 in Washington, DC

Hope to hear from you soon.

My mother's family is from Flagaman, St. Elizabeth and many are still living down there. My grandmother's name was Lillian Falconer, maiden name Barnett. She died about 8 years ago. She was married to Varian Falconer and they had 15 children. I think she had a sister named Daisy, but I'm not sure. I'll have to check with my aunt.

In your research have you come across an "Anny (Annie) Bent? She might have been born around 1865. She had 5 children with Charles Edward Isaacs of Santa Cruz, Black River, Queensbury, southfield area of St Elizabeth Parish. She also had a son, Cleveland Staple after 1888. She was a member of St Mark's parish. I think she was still alive around 1935.

Ebanks in Grand Caymen

Hello, Just got back from Grand Caymen and visited the museum on the island. It is very small, and so much of their history relates back to a hurricane which almost killed everyone on the island - including many Ebanks. There are several pictures of some old Ebanks on the walls of the museum. It is still a very prominent name there. My name is Eubanks, so I was interested. I don't think their brochure would, but there are large lists of the names of the Ebanks that died in that hurricane. I have been several times, if I go back, I will take a digital pic of everything Ebanks in the museum. Maybe someone could contact someone from Grand Cayman and get them to take pictures.
