Hi graderman,
Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. We are related, I think we would be second cousins. You are my father's 1st cousin (ken Ebbert), he is elmer's son (earl's brother). Is your mother still alive? Do you live in Alberta? Please send your email address, so we can chat more about this. Maybe your mom has more information? We are trying to get as much info as we can, before important people pass away. I live in Colorado, but I grew up in Saskatoon and my family is still there. Thx! Alaryce Ebbert-Shea :)

I'm desperately looking for information of my great-grandfather, Sherman. He might have had another formal name, but was born around 1871 (maybe) in Illinois (?). He married my great-grandmother Laura (Lucinda) Schuchard near Millville, Minnesota and had 6 children, 2 died; the remaining Walter (1892), Elmer (1894) my grandfather, Edla (Alice-1895) and Earl (1897). All children emigrated to Canada (Outlook, Saskatchewan) around 1910. Their mother had remarried in 1902 to an Adler and had many more children. She said that Sherman ran off and left her with the kids and that is the last trace of him we know of. My grandfather and his siblings used the name Ebbert in Canada, however, we found the census states Ebbit. We're not sure which one it is.

I found an Andrew J Ebbert, died December 3, 1906, aged 66-4-17 bur in the Union Bridge, Carroll Co, MD, Mountain View Cemetery Also buried is wife, Asenath E, died September 3, 1924, aged 81-8-7 buried in same cemetery. Daughter, Mary E, died Jan 7, 1920 aged 74, buried in same cemetery. - Names in Stone, Vol 1, pg 361.

My interest lies in a Michael Ebberts, whose father was also named Jacob. Michael was born in PA about 1800, married Anna Elizabeth 'Mary' Everich and then Elizabeth Delaplane. He died in Frederick Co, MD. My brick wall is his first wife Anna Elizabeth 'Mary' Everich (various spelling of this name too.)

I don't know if there is any relatiionship as the names were often mispelled. I hope this was of some help to you.

Pat

epd@lcsys.net

Indiana Ebberts

I submitted a message yesterday regarding Indiana Ebberts in 1917. David and Sarah Ebbert were the grandparents of my father, who lived in Colorado. If you look at the message board or I can get a copy of the picture to you, maybe there is a connection. I would really like to locate this side of my family. My mother's side is complete back to 1749 by a cousin and I need to do a little work on the other side.

Wish the Ebbert in your book were one of my known relatives in Colorado. I was born in Colo Sprgs, CO. The name is totally foreign to me; however, I'll ask other Ebberts who live or lived in CSC. Thanks for the reply.

I met Marvin at the reunion this past August, and he
was going to send me some information to include with
what I'd already found through census records, etc.
However, I've not heard from him to date. He lives
in Indianapolis, but I don't have an address for him.
I'm sure between the ones I can pick out and the ones
that my father's cousin (who is in her 70's), we should
be able to help identify many of the people in the photo.
This is so exciting!
No - My George Washington Ebbert was the child of Elias Ebbert and Mary Magdalene Foust. I have ancestors and descendants of my George Washington Ebbert - many lines - and still believe that somehow these men are related - perhaps cousins. The names in both families are too alike!
