I would like to do that dna thing also. I found that not only do i have the german(Eberhart) but I also have irish blood too. First though i need to get this eberhart geneology done. I just started but it is very interesting. the hard part is that on some of the census records my family appear to be black then some years they are mulatto. Then some change over to white. It's a hard task to get all the answers but I'm taking my time with this. If I find anything that my start a link to the other side of the family(the white side) i'll shoot u a email. Until then talk at you later cousin :0

I like the come back on that one. Sorry I know its years later though. I am the black side of the family and my family originates from georgia. For the cousin that thinks that we just took the name after slavery and have no Eberhart blood in our veins, your wrong, we do. There was also some of us that passed as white afterwards too. And we good the height and the looks too, just not the blonde hair and blue eyes. lol. My part of the family moved from georgia to alabama and now we live in st louis mo. I'm a 15 yr veteran of the st louis city police department.

Margaret Elizabeth Eberhart married JamesVance

Looking for information on Margaret b. 1793 and James Vance b. 1782... James Vance was the son of James Vance Sr. born in Ireland and Amy Slack. Margaret Eberhart was the daughter of M. Adolphus Eberhart and Sophia B. Speelman.
I believe there are many trees listed with misinformation: i.e: on James Vance born 1753 in Ireland is often listed as being married to both Amy Slack and Margaret Eberhart. I believe there were 2 James', father and son.

Thank you in advance.
Kathy

Just go to the Home page of Ancestry.com and type in: Edward Eberhart. Type in Indiana for place of birth. The 1880 census is free (or do you subscribe to Ancestry.com?).

Hi Sarah,
I could not find the connection for your line in the Book"History of the Eberharts in Germany and the USA"
Peter and Michael Eberhart came to America on 16 Oct 1727 in the good ship "Friendship" and landed in Philadelphia.
Their ancestors were royalty in Wuerttemberg from the 13th Century.
We went to Germany in 2001 to se where my folks came from. The Nolff's were from Grossgartach which is now Leingarten. It is midway between Stuttgart and Frankfurt.
In searching for my mothers side of the family (Eberhart) we discovered the statue of Duke Eberhart (With the beard) in Eberhart Plaza in Frankfurt. They (the Eberharts were very prominent in the area.

My suggestion to you would be to go to the Message board for the Eberhart's on rootsweb and see if anyone has further information on your side if the Eberhart family.

We have the same problem as you do.We can trace our side through John Eberhart in Brush Valley Twp., Indiana Co.,Pa but can't find the connection to the Eberhart line from there.
Wish I could have been more help.

Best Regards,
Bill Nulph
Houston,Texas

I can't find Andreas's father and mother. All I know was that he was born in Wuettnberg, Germany in the Glatton area.

Any info will be great, thanks, Sarah

I have some Eberhart ancestors that were born in OH, lived in IN prior to moving to MO. I wonder if there is a connection? George Eberhart (Everhart is another spelling I have found) was born 1825 Stark county OH but I have no idea who his parents or siblings are. He died in MO about 1880. He married Rachel Smith in IN.
Any ideas?
Dalonda Young
dalonda@kuntrynet.com

I never knew when he was born and believe he was born in Switzerland. I don't know when and where he died. I have looked for him for years. Do you know what Elizabeth's madien name is, if it is the same person as mine?

Their daughter Bertha Marie was my ggmother, b. 18 Dec 1860 in Switzerland, d. 8 Jan 1935 in Lebanon, Laclede, Missouri. She married John Baptist Walser 10 Sep 1891 in Lebanon, MO.

As I looked over Mary's profile, I'm thinking that maybe she was my Bertha's sister. Do you know if Mary had other brothers and sisters?

Please email me and let me know. If it is her I can give you her children's name and grandchildrens names.

I would like to compare these families.

Thank you,
Libby Eskelson
apockalipse2@yahoo.com

Hi All....

I am looking for some information on my Great Grandfather a Frederick Frank Eberhar(d)t born 2 march 1878 who was a clothes finesher.

Now I know know he was living in N Orianna Street according to census records of 1920 with his wife Mary Alice Eberhart. We know he was living in the same street possibley the same house in 1918. They moved to Westbury Hights before 1930.

We believe we have a frederick eberhardt living in the same road born in the same month on the 1900 census.

The problem is this, we have no records of his marrige to Mary Alice or if they moved and returned to the area. We know in late 1918 they had a son also called frederick. In 1920 they had another son called robert.

I would like to know the following

1) Frederick is actually the right person on the 1900 census

2) Did they have any other childeren as we believe there might be at least 2 other childeren.

3) We know that Mary had a sister called Eta/ Etta or Margerte. Her maiden name was currie - but we are not sure of the spelling.

4) We know that Mary Alice was a Strong Methodist

Any answers to the questions of if anyone knows anything however small about the Eberharts in the 1910s in PA please contact

Diversity has pr oven itself in the canine world to improve survivability, but then we still support pure breeds for the special qualities the possess which mongrels lack.

However, I am not referring to people of color who are cousins but those and others, perhaps orphans, who have been given a choice as to the name they want to have and after thumbing through the phone book or throwing darts at a list have adopted a name that has no relation whosoever to their genes, unless you go back at least 65 million years.

I do not understand this post. The former slaves, I am sure have some Eberhart blood running in their veins. Look at Pres. Jefferson he slept with his slaves as did others. And even the late Sen. Strom Thermond found this to be true of his family. So I think your statement "without any connection by blood in the last 65 million years" is very bold to say the least. My 5th great grandfather was Adolphus Eberhert b.1760 d. 1828. I am doing DNA testing and if I find I have black cousins it is not the end of the world... diversity makes for a stronger gene pool.
The Eberhart sirname was adapted by former slaves and is still being adapted today without any connection by blood in the last 65 million years whatsoever.

Hi Judy,
Sorry.I don't have any information on them. You may have better luck by going to the Mormon website at - www.familysearch.org - or rootsweb at- www.rootsweb.com - or ancestry - at - www.ancestry.com.
They will also give you access to the Census from 1880 to 1930.

Good Hunting.

Bill Nulph

Do you by any chance have any info on Adam Alvin Eberhart 1880-1948 or Richard Alexander or Alexander Eberhart 1848-1931. Adam lived and died in Cresson Cambria County PA. Thanks Judy QHeyJude@aol.com
