I'm researching the Wetzel family and recently found a marriage record for a Margaret Wetzel and "R.J. Ebert"... further digging found that the "R" was for Rineholt/Reinholt; I've also found marriage records for Helen Walsh and Rineholt Ebert. Rineholt's Spanish-American War veterans' compensation documents lists his wife's name as "Francis H."

I think Rineholt was actually married three times (the first two wives died).

I don't know if you still check this board or not, but would be interested in any information you have on Reinholt and/or his wife Margaret. (My research interest is in Margaret's Wetzel family who I've been researching for several years now)

Angie

I recently purchased a bunch of old paper items. One of the items is an old photo showing two young boys in front of a car with two US flags. Makes me wonder if this photo was taken on July 4th. On the back is written "Selmer Ebert and (unreadable) Ebert, South Dakota". Attached is a copy of the photo.

If this is one of your ancestors, please contact me.

Randy
Webster, Texas
His name was Clyde Ebert and he was born around the early 1900's, his first marriage produced a son name Calvin, then he married my grandmother, Phyllis Beste, although this was her second marriage I do not know if her last name was Beste at the time. They had 4 children: Judith, Clyde Oliver (my dad), Muriel Phyllis, and Charles. After they divorced there was no further contact made. If anyone has any info it would be a great help as I am at a dead end.
James kelley and maggie sparks who gave birth to a Roy Vinton Kelley in Oklahoma (circa 1906)..sometime in the early to late 20s, Roy and a woman named Cleadie had several children: Roy, Alice Marie, Frank, and Patrick Eli. There is talk that most, if not all of the children were born at home with a midwife, but there doesnt seem to be any records. It appears that during the time of the War, Roy Kelley Sr, may have enlisted in the military in New Mexico, however he is listed as divorced w/no dependents. If anyone has any information, please PLEASE respond. Thank you.

Hello Gertruzd
I tried sending an email, but it didn't go through. It would be great if that was your grandmother, but her birthdate is around 1811. In the England census 1841 Ann Warr is listed as a widow and head of a group of Ebert children. Ann was born in England. I haven't had luck finding the children's father for sure. Could be Henry Ebert. Can't follow him back so far. Thank you for your reply!

Hello Gertrud,
I see that your posting was in 2000 and it is now 2011 so don't know if you will get this.
Our Ebert family may have originally come from Germany. I have only been able to follow back to William Frederick Ebert in England. Wm. Frederick married Elizabeth Bennett.
He was born in England in 1835 and died in 1883. His father MAY have been Henry Ebert. Henry was born in 1809 and died in service in the British Hussars in 1848. A woman named Ann Warr was stated on the 1841 census to be the mother of 8 children with the last name Ebert, one of which is Wm. Frederick. I would appreciate learning of any thread to this. Thank you!

I found the below information on Christina Ebert
Not sure if it helps.

Just north of Lawnton Station, in a quiet back street, you’ll find an old grape vine growing on a chainwire fence next to the railway line.

It’s all that remains of a vineyard that Nikolaus and Christina Ebert planted on this spot in the 1860’s

His house was about 100 metres north of these vines, on what is now Ebert Parade.

Nikolaus, Christina and other members of the family are buried just up the road in Lawnton Cemetery alongside some of the other pioneers of the area.

The vineyards were ripped up before the railway line to Petrie and Gympie was laid. This vine re-grew and is a beautiful example of how the echoes from a bygone era may still be heard today
Hi to be honest i don't know. I just recieved an address book dated 1934 listing a Mrs. H. Ebert at 1570 E 49th st and a Miss C Ebert at the same address. My Grand aunt Married Howard Ebert (I tend to belive that Mrs. H. Ebert was his mother). abt 1920 agaist the wishes of his family. They had 2 children Howard reportedly moved to Alaska before it became a state and remarried. when Alaska became part of the United States he had to file for divorce. His daughter now 86 has little on her father she thinks he died in New York but really doesnt remeber and stated she doesnt want to know.

I am Beatrice Lyndel Harris. My fathers name is David Sargent Harris, born 1925. Haven't been in contact with him for many years. Wondering if this may be the one your looking for. If you have additional information, I may be able to help you. I know how to contact him.
