In 1847 Michael Hoover, along with father-in-law, Christian HERSHEY, and JOHN EBY, (b. 1822), the son of MARY (HERSHEY) (EBY) HOOVER, Michael's wife and some 60 family members, left Lancaster Co., PA and traveled to IOWA and founded the town of LISBON, IN LINN CO.
