Robert and Martha (Moore) are the parents of William
Joseph. I haven't found them after 1860 or any
information on their deaths or burials.

I do have a copy of their 1850 Ms. marriage,
happy to share. I also have Robert's Civil War
papers but they contain no useful information.

I have some information on the children of
Robert and Martha's sons. Nothing on either of
the two daughters after 1870.

Judy
judya1947@cox.net

Hello,
Could you help me please since possibly you were able to find the book "Echols Notes"? My ancestor was Jane echols who was born 1779-1780 possibly in NC but I am not sure about that. Jane might have been her middle name. She married Solomon Ray in 1796 in Wilkes co Georgia. I have spent over five years tying to find who her parents were. It would seem that she would hve been the daughter of one of the sons of Richard Echols (son of John Echols and Mary Cave) but I have not been able t find a Jane born about 1779 who was th granddaughter or great granddaugher of Richard Echols. All or most of Richard Echol's children went to Wilkes co or Oglethorpe co Ga by the 1790's. Any help appreciated. Thanks, oss

I have spent five years trying to find who her parents were and I found a post on Rootsweb World Connect where a researcher said her name was Jane Polly Echols and that she was the daughter of Jame Echols who died in Oglethorpe co Ga in 1823 or Clarke co Ga. I can not find any record showing he had a daughter named Jane born about 12779. I emailed the researcher but they have not replied. Would anyone be able to tell me if Jame Echols had a daughter named Jane? It might have been her middle name. Any help appreciated.

Hi
Thanks for the reply. I don't know how the book "Echol Notes" is indexed if it is but tere was a John Echols who died in 1750 in Beaufort co North Carolina. I think Jane born about 1779 was possibly the grand daughter of John Echols who died in 1750 in Beaufort co NC. I think she was the daughter of one of his sons. His sonswere John,James,Joses,Caleb and Samuel Ehols. One or more of them might have gone to Georgia where Jane married Solomon Ray in 1796 in Wiles co Ga. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It is in Pulaski county behind a personal residence, which is no longer in the echols family. When I saw it a few years ago, it was overgrown & not in good shape. It was fenced in. The residents had done an inventory about 10 - 15 years earlier so I would rely on that, The Southern Illinois Genealogical society had put together cemetaries in Pulaski County, Il.

I too am a desc of hers, though William Myatt, Mary Safronia Myatt, Sally Eola Gibson, Ella Eola Brinkley, and Eola Belle Turner (my mother). My question is about Patsy's grandfather Samuel Smith. Is he the son of John Smith -- Mary Warner -- Augustine Warner? This is a very distinguished ancestry but I am having my doubts about this lineage. Any info on this?

Re: Karns-Richards-Mitchell-Echols

Echols I am not sure about because I just recently learned of family history. I DO know Della Louella Karns married my g grandfather James Edward Richards. His father was Abraham Washington Richards and his mother was Margaret Mitchell. Abraham remarried after Margaret died in (I believe abt 1878), and had a whole other family, including 2 sets of twins. I have a small picture of Margaret Mitchell. My grandfather was James and Della's youngest son, William Byron, who died in 1928 at the age of 30 in a sledding accident in/around Portland, OR. My dad, Jack, was only 8 yrs. old. He had 2 younger brothers, Robert and Edward. I am Jack's oldest daughter. Dad didn't know his grandparents, as his mother moved back to Ohio and put the boys in the Miami Children's home, where Dad stayed until age 16, til he joined the CCC camps. I didn't think any of the boys got to see their grandparents, but I have a picture of Eddie, the youngest, with James and Della at about age 3, and surprisingly - they had a picture of my grandmother shortly before she died, back in the early 1960's. My dad never even knew his grandfather's or grandmother's name. My grandmother dropped the "s" off the last name, so it has been a trial finding them. They are scattered now from Lansing, MI to Findlay, OH. I remember the names Olive and Oliver from the Karns side. My name is Patty. Olive would be my great Aunt thru Great Grandmother Della.
