Jeanette E. (Orndorf) Eck, 72 .
of Woolrich passed away, Tuesday evening
at the Jersey Shore Hospital Emergency Room
with her family by her side.
She was born August 9, 1938 in Lock Haven.pa,
She was the daughter of the late Ralph and Ella (Bowmaster) Orndorf.
Jeanette was married to James Harvey Hess who died in 1963. She worked for Nalge International in Delaware and also as a seamstress for Woolrich Woolen Mills.
She was a member of the KEEN Club of Woolrich. Jeanette was an avid reader and she enjoyed watching Jeopardy. She loved family time especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are three sons Steve Eck, Jeff (Becky) Frank and Michael (Jennifer) Eck all of Jersey Shore; four daughters Joyce MacMillan of Jersey Shore, Shelly Hess of Waterville, Becky Hess of Jersey Shore and Sherry Arroyo of Newark, Delaware; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two brothers Domer Orndorf of Mechanicsburg and Jack Orndorf of Lock Haven; a sister Linda Fenton of Lock Haven and several nieces and nephews also survive.
A brother Raymond, two sisters Sally Fryer, Vivian Young and her stepfather Stanley Walizer,
preceded Jeanette in death.
The funeral service will be held 7 p.m., Saturday, June 18, 2011 at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall.
Friends and relatives will be received at the funeral chapel one-hour prior to the service.
Interment will be private at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
The family will provide the flowers.
In June of 2007 Jeanette received a lung transplant. She has always encouraged everyone to be an organ donor.
