Joseph Eckharth

I am looking for my ancestor Josef Eckharth (various spellings). Joseph was born in Eberau, Hungary, immigrated to the US in 1921, married Josephine Rosenberger in 1927 in Manhattn New York. Joseph was very interested in the Communist party. About 1932 he went to Germany to obtain a Visa into Russia. In 1933 he and his wife joined the Communist Party. they had a child born in Russia, Olga or Stephanie. Then in 1939 he was drafted into the Russo Finnish War and survived. But after WWII this family was never heard from again. I am trying to find out what happened to this family, seems they just disappeared. I am also looking for a Russian Visa he would have to obtain to enter Russia. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi
Mary Polly Eckart was my great great grandmother.
I have been trying to find her background for seven years.
My Grandmother was Bessie Eckart Beanblossom.
Her grandfather was Christie Eckart.
Jonas Eckart is son of Mary Polly Eckart. They were buried on the Fredrics farm and the only thing I know is that a storm up rooted the plots and Mary's hair was in the roots of the tree with a ribbon or something.
Julie Smith was his wife but she was once Julia Conter. Was she Indian? I found that the Indians names were changed to Bean. Another side of my family.
Thanks for any information you can give me. Linda Steepleton

Hi Creston
My name is Linda Keeling (Steepleton) Violet's daughter. Bessie Eckart's grandaughter. I am very interested in finding out about the family. It seems that mom and Evelyn were always telling us stories and mom wrote most of hers down in for a book. I now have it in an editor's hands. I would like to know more about you all and some backgound of her mother and grandmother which is your grandmother. Polly would be very interesting in the book. If you can please send me any information you have. Dick Painter my cousin seems to be very knowledgeable but I guess I just didn't listen well. Ha. We did not know anything about Estel's death until weeks later. I am sorry to hear that. Thanks for anything you can help me with. You can send it to my e-mail LKeel10469aol.com I am not a member here yet. Thanks Linda Sue

Hi willow352011,

Don't know if you were bluewillow1 that I just wrote to, but I believe we must be related as my paternal grandparents were George Ludwig Kaulbars and Zanita Ruth Kaulbars (nee Hamlin). I've always been very sad because I don't even have 1 picture of them or even the tiniest momento, but I do have very happy memories. I would love to learn more about them if you have any information whatsoever as they were more austere and proper and didn't speak of such things as their life's work, relatives and such to mere grandchildren, but they did dote whenever we were allowed to visit them ;-)

I look forward to hearing from you at anytime and would appreciate any info, cool stories or just anything you might be able to enlighten me with about them ;-)

Thank you so much and take care!

I would like any information you have on Marry Polly Brady married to Christian Eckart. My grandmother was Bessie Eckart daughter of Christin Eckart and Grate Granddaughter of Jonas whoose mother was Marry Polly. I have heard that she was a full blooded Indian and she was barried on the Fredicks land in Dogwood. There was a big storm that came along and up lifted a tree and Mary Polly was lifted from her grave and tangled in the roots of the tree where she was burried. Her hair was tangled in the roots and was recognized by the long black hair and pins in her head. What do you know about her. Where was she born and who was her parents?

I know she was born 2/1/1858 in Alma, MI.

She married Charles Adelbert States. He was the first postmaster and named the town of Eckert, Colorado after his in-laws. Together they had 4 children.

I have extensive information on their descendants, but virtually nothing on her siblings, parents or ancesters. I was able to track her down on the 1860 census which reads as follows:

"1860 Arcada Twp. pg. 169-170 house #509.
Eckart Araan 35yrs. b. NY
Amanda 29yrs. b. NY
Martin 13yrs b. MI
Mary 11 yrs. b. MI
Fanny 9yrs. b. MI
Margarette 7yrs. b. MI
Hiram 5 yrs b. MI
Isadore 3yrs b.MI"

If you have any information on this family, I sure would appreciate a reply.

Regards,
Teri Harrison
t4harrison@rocketweb.net

She graduated from Wamego High School and attended Kansas State University for two years, studying medical technology. While attending college, she met Max Wade, whom she later married. Her life revolved around family and friends. This is apparent when you look at the longevity of her marriage, the success of her children and the values they bring to their jobs and respectivie families. She instilled in her children to be generous, and to live up to their commitments. Every day she demonstrated how to be a loving and caring mother. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Max W. Wade, Tulsa, Okla., for merly of Whiting; her children, Greg and his wife, Donna Wade, living in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and their children, Erin Wade, Kelly (Wade) and James Castaneda, and Steven Wade, Jody (Wade) and her husband, Mike Keller, Tulsa, Okla., and their children, Michael and Jessica Keller and Jesse Keller, Alan and his wife, Kelly Wade, Broken Arrow, Okla., and their children, Ashley Wade and Zack Wade, and Doug Wade, Broken Arrow, Okla.; and a brother, William R.
Hi to both of you!

My name is Anthony I'm from Belgium, some of my ancestor were Dethier-Denooz family. And my grand mother who was 7 by then asked me to search on internet for the descendants of a military who came to Belgium during WWII. They lodged him in their home in Theux, Juslenville.
So my grand mother still remembers him and found out his address and a picture of him.
The date is 09/25/1944 and the address is
Clarence R.or F.? Eckart
9507 Plymouth Av.
Garfield Height
Cleveland #5
Ohio.
I'm wondering if it could be your grand father? I can scan the picture if you want. My grandma would be really pleased to have any news from the family.

Greetings from Belgium.
A. G.
Something here sounds like it tracks with recent Eckard family research in Story Co., IA. I have a Moses Eckard, b. abt 1880 in TN, possibly married to a Killion, with sons with sons Elijah (b. 1818 in Harrison Co., IN and married to a Jenkins of Clay Co., IN), Frederick K. (K. for Killion? b. 1824 in IN), Moses Armstrong (b. 1829 in Nordaway or Nordavan? and married to a Killian) but all living on farms near Ames, Story Co., IA in the mid-1800s. Will be checking your leads on Moses and David/Emma -- let me know if you need more info. The Story Co. genealogy web site has lots of info.

I am trying to respond to an old post by Mary Thompson Saban (posted May 23, 1999)- which I printed out, but don't find on this site any longer (too old?)

the message had to do with John Hancock ECKERT and any possible relation to Catharine WOODDEN, whose obit was found in the family bible. I have more information about her. Contact me (if you find this!) if you want to know more.
Susan :-)
