Ecke, Emilia. family--Prussia-NY; Hellmuth, Albert, Bertha (3), Emilie

Looking for information or relatives who might have genealogy background on Emma Ecke Locander who married Ulric(h)U. Locander, Manhattan (Kings) NYC in the 1860s. She likely arrived in 1863 on the ship "Neptune" in NY from Prussia--with the family members listed in the subject line of this thread.
In response to earlier queries, there are two Berthas in this particular family, according to the NY Passenger List 1851-1891-- mother and daughter. The son, Albert Ecke, a tinsmith, apparently later married Marie ____. They had a new born daughter named Bertha in the 1870 census.
KHarrigan

i think you are speaking about jozefa ecke, maiden name uchwal, born in either stopnica or brzezie (there is not many documentation preserved after two world wars going through...), she was my great aunt, half sister of my grandfather, i think actually that she arrived to us in 1919. have record somewhere but cannot find it currently. hope that will help at least a bit... there is few other members of the family in us, mostly in michigan/chicago, beside that there is few peoples (all related) in poland, in brzezie, bytom, trzebnica and wroclaw. in total i think there is about 5 families in us, 4 in poland and 2 in australia... :-)

I am looking for information about Alva Ecke, born around 1911, possibly in New York. I have an autograph book given to Alva by her Uncle Walter in June 1924. The book is signed by her classmates and some family members and teachers. The only information I have developed came from the Social Security Death Index, which reveals that several male signers of the book were born in 1911 and registered for Social Security in New York. Alva attended Public School No. 17 - but I do not know where the school was/is located. There is a Public School 17 in Yonkers, NY, but my inquiries there have gone unanswered.

Thank you in advance for any assistance you may offer.

Wayne A.
Albert G. Ecke's in Denver-spouses

Greta,
My g-grandmother was Bertha A. Wolfer Howard Ecke. On Family Tree Maker, Volume 1, World Family tree pedigree #213, I found Albert G. Ecke married to 1st to Mary Clara Frieslaben and it shows 4 children. One of those children is your Mildred Mary Ecke Bair, the spouse of Mildred is Clinton Emmett Bair Sr. It shows 6 children for Mildred and Clinton. On this tree my g-grandmother Bertha is shown as the 2nd wife of Albert G. Ecke. Bertha was first married to my g-grandfather, William Howard (he is my brick wall!) Would you possibly know anything about Bertha? She died in Denver on 17 October 1959. Thanks, Janet J. Stahl

That Albert G. Ecke is my great-grandfather. Albert Francis and Eddie are my grandfather’s brothers. Evidently my Grandfather Gus (the oldest) and his sister Mildred Ecke Bair (who was born somewhere between Albert F. and Eddie) were not living at home at the time of the census. What was your great-grandmother’s name? Where is this Family Tree stuff?

Hi, My g-grandmother was a wife of Albert G. Ecke (3rd wife?). I have a copy of the 1910 Denver census that shows Albert G. Ecke with 2 sons, Albert F? Ecke age 19 and Eddie Ecke age 12. Both sons were born in Colorado. Albert G. Ecke owned his house at 1241 Pecos St. Denver. This census lists Albert G. as divorced when the census was enumerated. He married my g-grandmother somewhere between 1913 and 1920. There is a Family Tree Maker family tree that has some information on this Ecke family. Just thought you might like to know. Janet J.

My father is Gus J. Ecke Jr., born in 1931. He had an Uncle Albert too, which in my mind it is a family name. And there were a couple of other uncles that were trying to find the names to see if Albert was used, but all the paper work we have is scattered and we're trying to get it all together. We we're under the impression that Great-Grandpa Albert left a family in NY when he moved west and forgot about them and started over. So that leaves a whole family branch that may be "missing". Maybe this links to your Grandfather.

Talk at ya soon!

Greta
