Records of Egypt reformed church, Lehigh, Pennsylvania. have listed in 1811 the following record of baptism;

ILLEGITIMATE, BARBARA, dr. Daniel Kohler and
Susanna Eecker; b. Feb 13; bap. Feb. 17; sp. Friedrich
Becker and w. Eva.

I am currently researching the ECKERT/ECKER families in the Lehigh and Northampton, Pennsylvania area. I find this entry in the church records very intriguing. If anyone has any information on any of the persons listed in this entry I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.
I may be contacted at pbrain155@yahoo.com thank you

Looking for my Biological Father (Indiana)

SEARCHING FOR MY BIOLOGICAL FATHER! He does not know I exist! Any help would be appreciated!

First name: Steve, Steven, Stephen
Last name: Ecker, Eckart, Eckert

He may have turned 21 in February of 1981. Which would put him born in Feb 1960. Mom seems to remember celebrating his birthday at the bar at that time.

Mom believes he was from Elkhart, Indiana or the surrounding area.

He was apparently tall, she estimates around six feet tall. She also recalls his eyes were very striking. She cannot remember if they are blue or green, but apparently memorable.

He would have worked on a construction crew that traveled out of state to work on projects. They came to Jesup, IA to work in or around the city, stayed at the Grand Motel in Jesup, and often hung out at the Stallion Bar on Young Street by the Post Office.

My Mom (Karen) was a bartender there (my grandparents owned the bar - she painted the black stallion on the wall inside).

He apparently had a friend they called "WeeHee" (or any phonetic variation of that name).

My Mom is about 5'9", had long brown hair, and was thin. One memorable thing about her is that she's the second of 10 children.

Please contact me if you have any information. I do not want anything other than a relationship for myself, and my two young sons.

Thanks!

I thought you might be interested.

In letter from my (Aunt) Mary Ecker who was Della's stepmother and aunt.
It was not dated but was abt. 1970.
Della's boy Dick got married yesterday. He will soon be 24. The girls name is Karen and only 17. Dick came and took me to the church for the wedding. The only guests were Della, her husband, her two stepsons, Patsy, her husband and two little girls and myself. Della's address is Mrs Phillip Woolford, Happy Acres, Beachville, St. Marys Co., Maryland.

I knew Della May was married twice but was not sure of the husband's names.

(I am a niece of Sarah Ford Ecker).
Paulette McLennan Smith

Re: Ecker of New Jersey, Albany, and Wuerttemberg Germany.

I forgot that I posted this query but have new information since I last wrote. The following is from a cousin, thrice removed, that I met for the first time last evening through Ancestry.com. They live in Waterford which is not far from Albany. Please let me know if Jacob married Anna Edinburg as follows:

She wrote: "I checked out Anna Edinburg Ecker. I think she may have been married to an Ecker & her maiden name was Edinburg. I find a Anna Ecker in the 1882 Albany directory, living on Clinton Avenue & she is widowed. She married Fred Dedrick in September of 1882. The directory was probably done in the beginning of the year before she married Fred. The only Anna Edinburg I find in the 1870 census is living in Watervliet. That could be her. As far as the 1880 census goes, I find a Anna Ecker married to a Jacob with a son George. The age is right, but I can't say for sure it's her."

Let me know if this sounds correct. Since our family is mostly German, I would love to know the history of the Eckers when they lived there. Thanks so much. Kristen Frederick

Hi - I'm brand new at this and don't know if this is the same family, but the mother of my grandmother (Mary Elizabeth Dedrick - Albany 1889-1973) was named Anna Edinburg Dedrick. Before she married a Dedrick, she was married to "an Ecker" whose name I don't have. My grandmother told me she had a half brother named George Ecker. Could that be one of the Ecker children born in Albany, NY? That's where I live and where my grandmother lived her whole life. Since Mary Elizabeth raised six of her brothers and sisters due to the death of her mother, then father, I know her mother (Anna Edinburg Ecker Dedrick) lived here too.
Re: Lewis W Ecker 1895 to 1966 and also Aleta Ecker

Greetings. Lewis Wilfred and Aleta (or Elva Aleta) are siblings of Mabel Ecker, see below. Other sibs: Ethel (m. Smith) b. 1890, Clarence b. 1893, Ira, b.1889. Aleta was likely born around 1908 (and married Wm. Coates, around 1930 in Ontario and have living children whom I know of but no longer know where they reside. I know same of offspring of Ethel Smith...

My paternal grandmother, deceased in 1986 is Mabel Ecker b. Nov 1891 in Lyons, Elgin Ontario.

Grandma was one of 6 (or 7) children born to William George Ecker (b. 1866, Binbrook, Ont. d. 1954, Tilsonburg, Ont) and Elva Alicia Disher (1869-1947). 1901 census has them living in village of Springfield, Middlesex with 5 children.

William George is recorded on LDS pedigree as son of David Ecker (b. 1841, Binbrook Tsp, Wentworth Co. Ontario, d. 1931 Wentworth Co.) and Agnes Moffat (1842-1882).

David Ecker is recorded as son of George Ecker (b. 1818 Ontario, d. 1908, Binbrook Tsp, Ont) and married 1840 in Hamilton to Sarah Weaver (b. abt 1817 New York, USA, d. 1886, Binbrook Tsp). It appears George also had a son Milan with whom he resides at 1901 census.

LDS /1881 census I also came across a George Ecker b. abt 1816, Binbrook, Wentworth, Ont. with a differnet wife (Lana) and a David Ecker as son, b. abt 1842, Binbrook. Any ideas on distinguishing the two families??

Grandma Mabel's siblings were Ethel (Smith), Aleta (Coates) whom I recall and the brothers I know nothing of, Clarence, Ira, Lewis all of whom moved to USA, and then the name Daniel Ecker perplexes me as I thought he was also a brother but my one surviving aunt thinks not. Daniel that Grandma spoke of was likely her uncle Daniel.
Grandma also spoke of an uncle Ezra. I find one Ezra Maynard Ecker b. July 1864 but only listed as Ontario birthplace but 1881 Census places him at Walsingham, Norfolk So. Ontario as an 18 yr old child of James Ecker; I am trying to figure Ezra's connection to David Ecker and my grandmother.
The Eckers were Methodist when grandma was born. They are also known for longevity.
I am aware of a book about Ecker genealogy but it is out of print and apparently includes info about Ontario Eckers whom include Deutsch immigrants, Pennsylvania Dutch and Loyalist ties. What I do know is that cheese played a role in my grandparents' meeting: William George Ecker and his son-in-law George G. Gunn were both "cheese makers" which facilitated my grandmother Mabel meeting Geo. G. Gunn in Rewey, Wisconsin.
I have their respective birthyears as 1826 and 1832 and notes that support that Hannah was born in Canada. Was wondering if the Ettie could be my Henrietta....

Do you have any further information that would lead to the names of their parents?

Thank you in advance for any help you may provide.

Kathryn

Peter Ecker in Middlesex Co., Ontario

I would like to establish email contact with anyone who has this gentleman and his family in their tree. This is also posted within the "Eckers in Ontario" thread on this Board.

Peter Ecker family farmed in North Dorchester, Middlesex in 1852.

My index for that census lists:
Peter H.[or A] b abt 1796 in Upper Canada
Catherine b abt 1800 in USA [maybe PA?]
John b abt. 1823 in Upper Canada [in Ingersol in 1862]
Maria b abt 1834 in Upper Canada
James b abt 1836 in Upper Canada
Margaret b. abt. 1841 in Upper Canada

In 1861, the Eckers in North Dorchester seem to be John's family (wife "Isalla" and children {?} Sarah & Bethesda) and his sister Maria. Peter and Catherine are not listed in 1861. Additionally, in 1861 there is a "Michel" Ecker living in a separate place in this township. Interestingly John and Michel were both carpenters. I don't know if they are related.

I would like to establish contact by email with descendants of Peter Ecker, if possible. In 1852, my gr gr aunts Abby [Abigail] and Caroline Young were living with the Peter Ecker family. I suspect that they were related to Catherine, a possible sister of their father, John A. Young or their mother Harriet.

my email address is dny AT mac DOT com

Thank you!

Both her son Charles and her daughter Margaret named their daughters Lana.
I'll be glad to give you information on the Ford family as I am descended from Margaret Ford who was Sarah's sister. Louis worked as a coppersmith for Raritan Copperworks and was a Presbyterian.

Louis married Annie Grace (1872--1929) and they had the following children: Mabel Florence Ecker (my ggrandmother, b. in May 1895), Louis (1898), Anna (1900), Maude (1902), Louise (1905), Harold (1907) and Howard (1912).

Perhaps if some of those names sound familiar, we can make a connection to your Eckers in the Newark, NJ area.

Lewis W Ecker 1895 to 1966 and also Aleta Ecker

Lewis was my grandma's little bro and now that she's gone I've lost my best ancestry resource. Anyone know where Lewis taught/worked, likely Illinois and did he have children (married julia and possibly a Mildred). I know he retired to Florida. Any info is welcome.
I am looking for info on my Aunt Aleta Ecker(possibly Smith) whom married Will Coates whom was not only a very learned and engaging man but also a Baptist minister whom visited us in Saskatchewan Canada and lost contact after Grandma Mabel Gunn died.
