Hi All-

My name is Kathryn Economy and I reside in Fort Myers, Florida. My Grandfather is the late Donald Economy and my grandmother is the recently late Dolores Economy. My father is Dennis and my uncle Ken (who I see has been mentioned) is his brother who resides in Sausalito, California. My late Uncle Craig resided in Detriot, Michigan. My father is the first born son of Donald and Dolores Economy. My Greatgrandfather is John Economy and his wife was Martha. They both resided in Detriot, Michigan where John was employed at the Ford Motor Company. My younger brother's name is Jon (whom was named after Great Grandfather John Economy) as well as our Grandmother Dolores whose father's name was also John. I have a younger sister named Lauren and I myself am the oldest- age 21. Economy's from Ioannia Greece

My husband's father was from Ioannia Greece. He was born in 1894, his fathers name was George. On papers from this country it says he was from Jannina. The last name in Greek is Economu. Any help is greatly appreciated. We are not sure of the date he arrived here. He went to Cleveland, Pittsburg and then married Mamie Clark and settled in Detroit

Sue, I wish I could say we are related. It seems the two Economy family paths keep crossing. It could be back in the old country there is a connection. My son played ball against some one from your family in the 1970's in Livonia if I remember correctly his name was Thomas also. My nephew was operated on in 1960's by Doctor Economy. We think my husbands father was from Ioannia Greece . He was born in December 24, 1894. We have heard he went from New York to Pittsburg, to Cleveland Ohio and then on to Detroit. We he first came to Mi he was partners in a bar on Michigan Ave. in Detroit and then purchased a resturant on 6 mile in Detroit the family lived on Greenfield near Grandriver during the 1940 and 50's. Thomas John Economy passed away in November of 1967 in Detroit.

Thank you very much for your reply. I have heard of Dr. Economy as a matter of fact I think he had cared for a member of our family about 35 years ago. My husbands father, Thomas John Economy was born in Greece in 1894 in the town of Ioannina. His family sent him alone to the United States with a bar of gold. I understand he was just a young teen. He kept in contact with his family until after the 2nd World War. I sure wish we had asked more questions while he was with us. Your Grandfather that you speak of named George could possibly be a older brother to my husbands father Did your Grandfather ever come to the United States or did he pass away in Greece? Do you know your Grandfather Mothers name and his Fathers name. My husband's father Thomas John's Economy's fathers name was John and his Mother name was Elaine John this is what is written on his Social Security application in 1936. If your Granfather lived in the United States you can send for that information, if he filled out an application for Social Security and then we would know. Thanks again for your time I wish I had more information to give you. By the way Thomas Johns first born son was named George.

Hi there I believe that I am a cousin to Chris My aunt Gladys does live in Texas I am not sure where anymore Last I seen her was when her husband passed which is where I come in at Chris's father and my mother were brother and sister I would love to talk to any of the family members from mom side I last seen some of my cousins when another uncle passed in Mich and I don't remember if even chris was there but I did see one of his brothers and his mom if your sister of niece would like to contact me that would be great there is alot of nice family there in Michigan and really close
to Farmington Hills how old is Jennifer I am sure that she has cousin around her age she may even have second cousins. Did any of the brothers move back to Michigan? Thanks for what ever info you can send me. Phyllis

This is the same family that I am connected to. Saw recently that a Dr. Donald Economy is listed on the Social Security Death List. He was a great surgeon and the nephew of my Grandmother. He did have a sister in California who was a school teacher. We listened for hours to John Economy's storys of his earlier days working for Ford Motor Company and his relationship with Mr. Henry Ford (as he always referred to him). He and his wife Martha were a very special couple. This is all very familiar to me as the two sisters lived just two houses apart in Detroit, Michigan - Susan

I have a great uncle John who was a doctor in Detroit, MI. He was the brother of George Peter Economou of San Francisco, Ca. and 1/2 brother to James Economou of San Francisco, Ca. and Anastasia Economou from Athens area Greece. My Grandfather George Peter Economou was born April 14, 1889 and died Sept. 22, 1946. He was married to Dominica (Mary) Rizzo. Is this the connection you ar looking for?

Hi My name is Aleesa. I am not an Economy but my sister and her daughter are. My sister married Christopher Economy the son of Gladis Economy (now residing in Houston, Texas) brother to Tony, John and maybe others that I don't know their names. My neice's name is Jennifer Economy and my sister is Ronna Economy. I am sure that Jennifer not having any ties with her family would like to know if there are any other Economys out there that may be family. She lives in Farmington Hills, Michigan. I too have a relative named John ECONOMY who was married to Martha Heiman in DETROIT, MI. They had a son who was a Doctor. Uncle John died in his 90's I believe. If you have any knowledge of this family please contact me. They also had a daughter who was a teacher I believe. Don't really remember her.
