I am a descendant of John Rufus Eddins (11-15-1837 to 12-21-1921) and Emmeline Lucretia Beard both of Pine Apple AL.
I am compling information on the family of William Riley (Rilah) Eddins and their service in the Confederate Army. I have J.R. Eddins and his half brothers, Francis Marion Eddins and Riley Harrison Eddins, in the 17 AL infantry. Abner William Eddins was in the 6th AL cavalry but I have been unable to find out if he survived the War.
I also have James Eddins in the 53rd AL cavalry but this has not been comfirmed.
I have a picture of J.R. Eddins in his miltia uniform taken sometime in 1861 (I believe). I also have a picture of J.R.'s family in Stranger TX where they moved sometime in 1870 - 1880.
I am also interested in the Beard family who lived next door to the Eddins in Pine Apple.
Charles Dekle Beard married an Eddins and I believe that he served in the 4th AL Cavalry with his older brother William Beard.
I would be glad to share what I have and am eager for more information about my gg grandparents. My grandfather was also John Rufus Eddins son of Charles Floyd Eddins of Marlin TX.
