Marlene Blanch Michel Eden, 75, Lone Tree, died Monday, Sept. 11, 2006, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

The Revs. Jason Crossen and Vitalis Torwel and Parish Life Coordinator Carol Kaalberg will officiate. Casket bearers are Brian Michel, Duane White, Donald Michel, Richard Michel, Craig Michel, J.B. Petsel and Henry J. Knebel. Burial will be at the Lone Tree Cemetery. After the burial, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Lone Tree American Legion.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church or the Friends of the Library.

She was born May 18, 1931, in Hills, the daughter of Glen and Marguerite Droll Michel. She married Homer E. 'Bud' Eden Jr. on Nov. 30, 1950, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Hills.

She graduated from the eighth grade at St. Joseph's School, Hills, in 1944 and from high school at St. Patrick's, Iowa City, in 1948.

She worked for Stutsman Feed Co., Hills, from 1948-53. She was Eldon Stutsman's first bookkeeper. She and her husband owned and operated Eden Truck Farm for 17 years. In 1989, she started working as a library aide for the city of Lone Tree in the towns library located in the Community Building. It merged with the Lone Tree School Library.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Friends of the Library, Morning Coffee Rummy Club and two Royal Rummy Clubs. She was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 457. She enjoyed making cashew crunch, playing cards, games, going to the Floating Malls and getting together with her family and friends.

Survivors include three brothers, Clayton Michel and wife Maryann of Riverside, Gerald Michel and wife Joan of Hills and Stephen Michel and wife Cynthia of Kalona; a sister, Marilyn Knebel of Hills; a sister-in-law, Jacqueline Michel of Hills; a brother-in-law, George White of Coal Valley, Ill.; many nieces and nephew, cousins and the good friends and family who helped her out in her life by taking her places.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Keith 'A.J.' Eden; two brothers, Calvin 'Rink' Michel and Richard 'Pete' Michel; and two sisters, Gwendolyn 'Queenie' White and Ann Marguerite Michel
