just found this web site today, and I am the neice of Leamon Eden, James Andrew Monroe Eden, was his father, Willie Eden, (Could be short for William.) was his grandfather, and great grand father, From Germany about 1820. Died in Texas Co. Missouri, ?? Where in Germany I don't know. know nothing farther back than this. Don't know if he had sisters or brothers. Leamon had 3 brothers, 1 sister, a stillborn sister, and a half Bro. I am his sister's daughter.

my grandfather James Andrew Monroe Eden was born in wright co. Mo. Mother Mary Ann (Molly) Duty. Father Willie Eden, no idea where he was born. Mary Ann Duty was born in Tennessee. Her father John Duty. I was told that Willie Eden's father, also named Willie born about 1820, Died in Texas Co. Missouri, came from Germany. Marlene Blanch Michel Eden, 75, Lone Tree, died Monday, Sept. 11, 2006, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

The Revs. Jason Crossen and Vitalis Torwel and Parish Life Coordinator Carol Kaalberg will officiate. Casket bearers are Brian Michel, Duane White, Donald Michel, Richard Michel, Craig Michel, J.B. Petsel and Henry J. Knebel. Burial will be at the Lone Tree Cemetery. After the burial, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Lone Tree American Legion.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church or the Friends of the Library.

She was born May 18, 1931, in Hills, the daughter of Glen and Marguerite Droll Michel. She married Homer E. 'Bud' Eden Jr. on Nov. 30, 1950, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Hills.

She graduated from the eighth grade at St. Joseph's School, Hills, in 1944 and from high school at St. Patrick's, Iowa City, in 1948.

She worked for Stutsman Feed Co., Hills, from 1948-53. She was Eldon Stutsman's first bookkeeper. She and her husband owned and operated Eden Truck Farm for 17 years. In 1989, she started working as a library aide for the city of Lone Tree in the towns library located in the Community Building. It merged with the Lone Tree School Library.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Friends of the Library, Morning Coffee Rummy Club and two Royal Rummy Clubs. She was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 457. She enjoyed making cashew crunch, playing cards, games, going to the Floating Malls and getting together with her family and friends.

Survivors include three brothers, Clayton Michel and wife Maryann of Riverside, Gerald Michel and wife Joan of Hills and Stephen Michel and wife Cynthia of Kalona; a sister, Marilyn Knebel of Hills; a sister-in-law, Jacqueline Michel of Hills; a brother-in-law, George White of Coal Valley, Ill.; many nieces and nephew, cousins and the good friends and family who helped her out in her life by taking her places.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Keith 'A.J.' Eden; two brothers, Calvin 'Rink' Michel and Richard 'Pete' Michel; and two sisters, Gwendolyn 'Queenie' White and Ann Marguerite Michel.

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Carroll Eden, 89, of Legacy Pointe, formerly of rural Iowa City, died Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

Services are at the United Presbyterian Church, Lone Tree. The Rev. Beverly Hovenkamp and Loren Yoder will officiate. Burial will be at Lone Tree Cemetery.

Visitation at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service, Iowa City.

Mr. Eden was born Feb. 19, 1915, in Lone Tree, the son of Charles T. and Hilma B. (Benson) Eden. He married Elma A. Goody June 4, 1938, at Old Brick Church, Iowa City. She preceded him in death in 1994.

After graduation from Lone Tree High School, he was employed by the University Hospitals as an orderly. From 1941-44, he drove for the hospital bringing patients to and from the hospital. In 1944, he and his wife moved to a farm southeast of Iowa City where they farmed for many years until his retirement.

He established many friendships throughout his many years being a Trojan Seed Corn representative, a member of the Johnson County Pork Producers, having served for more than 25 years as a director and past president on the Eastern Iowa Light and Power Company Board, former member of the Swank Church, Lone Tree, and presently a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Lone Tree.

Survivors include a daughter, Janice Rayner and husband Gerald of Lone Tree; a son, Gary Eden and wife Beth of Iowa City; six grandchildren, Julie Buline and husband Bob, Randy Rayner and wife Elaine, Russ Rayner and wife Darcy, Justin Eden, Sheri Eden and Brandon Eden; seven great-grandchildren, Morgan, Jay and Dillon Buline, Gina and Quinn Rayner and Dalton and Austin Rayner; brothers, Hubert Eden and wife Irmgard of Fredericksburg, Va., Robert Eden of Iowa City, Marion Eden of Hills and William Eden and wife Delores of Iowa City; sisters, Florence Millsap and husband Kenneth and Betty Kirchner, both of Iowa City, and Lavon and David Kirkpatrick of Houston, Texas; and his special friend, Marjorie Krebs.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

I am just commencing a search for my grandparents and have realized that they are burried in the Islington cemetery at East Finchley UK. My grandfather was John Eden a greengrocer from London. When I can go through the bits and pieces perhaps we can share some history. My father was George Edward Eden and we came to Australia after the war in 1949. All my relatives are from around London and I'm told there is a family grave section in the Islington Cemetery. I have a cousin Bob Eden who is also searching so perhaps together we may be able to assist each other.

Census 1901 shows in Charlbury, John James Eden, 54, born in Charlbury and his wife, Ann E Eden, 55, born in Churchill.
Census 1871 for Charlbury shows Thomas Eden, Widower, 65, born in Charlbury and his son John Eden,24,born in Charlbury. I couldn't see an earlier Census with information.

Census 1851 for Churchill, Oxford shows Charles Calcutt, 55, and wife Elizabeth, 55,born in Rugby(all others born in Churchill) living with family including Ann, daughter,5.
A search of the IGI shows Ann Calcott, daughter of Charles Calcott and Elizabeth as christened on 18 Jan 1846. As it seemed Elizabeth might be too old to have such a young daughter,a check on the christenings of the older children also show Charles and Elizabeth as the parents (Calcott spelling varies).

IGI does not show a Calcutt wedding in Rugby. The name there is variations on Caldecott, but not of a Charles and Elizabeth around 1825. Records may be lost...

There was story that my grandmother was the child of one of the Eden's who had run off with a stablehand or servant of some kind. I am not sure of the veracity of this story however I am fairly sure that the Anthony Eden connection is true. I would really like to learn more about her origins. The othe information I have is that my grandmother's brother also came out to Australia and he had seventeen children. I know the names of some: Barbara, Shirley and Margaret.
Do you think there is a connection to your family? Also the Grey's are connected to Anthony as his Mother was a Grey.

James Eden was born 1/28/1900 in Indian Territory and died 2/1986 in Jasper Co., Mo. He married May Seaberus. His parents were Seigle Eden and Rosie Buzzard. Seigle was born 1864 somewhere in Mo. Rosie was born 2/8/1880 in Delaware District of Indian Territory. Rosie's ancestors apparently were Cherokee Indians. James Jr. was born 12/30/1919 and died 2/8/2005. I am the oldest in my family now of the Eden side.All of my mothers' brothers are deseased. My cousin 7 years younger than me, has a bible that our great grandmother wrote in, some of it we can't make out. some we could. I just hunted the information up that my cousin gave me. Delia Eden 1,12. Lucy a born June 30 1863 married on April 1885 to Willie Eden died Jan 18 1900 we couldn't make out the middle name. Sarah Cordila Jane Eden Feb 22 1897 Married John Logan Woody July 15, 1913 . the name Earnest Aug 1 1914, wich i am asumming is Sarah Eden's oldest child. I knew him. James Andrew Monroe Eden Nov 11 1898 which was my grandfather,( and he died Oct 10 1961 in Hartville Wright Co. Mo.) Edna E Coffman Aug 1901 died Sept 9 1915 . Jim , no last name June 12 then erased out and June 14 1872 , we couldn't make out the inatial R. or P. Charley Eden June 4, it had no year.

my grandfather,James Eden was from wright county, Hartville Mo he was born in wright co. 1898 He had a sister Sarah Jane, She married a John Woody, She was born in 1896. willie, His dad died not long before he was born. His mother was Mary Lucy Ann Duty, she later married Dow Coffman. They had a daughter who died when a teen ager by lighting. I think her name was Edna Coffman. Maybe they were from Christian co. that is all i know. Joyce.

QUESTION #2: Who is Chester Darling . . . really???

I initially found him in one online tree listed as the son of Annabell Thompson and Charles Darling. But he was born in 1907 (1920/1910 Census) and only appears in the family of Charles O. Darling and Martha (Emmel) Darling (Charles’ second wife). But they didn’t marry until 1908.

Charles was first married to Annabell Thompson in 1902; have not yet found any divorce papers. My supposition at this time is they were separated, or divorced, by 1906-1907 and Charles and Martha had a “liason” which resulted in Chester and their subsequent marriage in 1908.

Also, 1920 Census shows Charles Duling/Darling married TWO years to Martha with son Chester, age THREE. Further census detail states Martha has born ONE child and ONE child is living; (i.e., Chester).

Hi Trying to trace any family of Kate Eden (born 1893). She had a daugher Evelyn Lowe Eden in 1909 and married a Dennis L Lowe in 1911. (evelyn is my gran).

I believe Dennis dies shortly after this as when Evelyn left home in about about 1925/26 she was known as Smith and she had three young brothers possibly named Bill Peter and George or Henry.

Did Kate remarry? Do you know anything that could help me trace the wherabouts of my grans halft siblings and their families?
