Surnames: Edes, Starr, Wetherell
In regard to George Valentine Edes' birth, Edgar C. Smith interviewed Samuel D. Edes, the oldest son of George V., and wrote "The Edes Family", Sprague's Journal of Main History, Vol. 9, No. 1, Jan, Feb, Mar 1921, pages 32-35 (found in rootsweb.com). Stated in the article - George V. was born in Boston, Feb 14, 1797 and died in Foxcroft, Nov 26, 1875. I will be interested in any information you receive from the historian, Louis Stevens, regarding George V., his family, and his father, Benjamin Jr. the son of Benjamin & Martha Starr, because this is my husband's line.

George V. Edes and Susan Wetherell had eight children of which the youngest, George Albert, migrated across the U.S. finally reaching Morgan Hill CA where there is still family today. George V's sons, Charles Emerson and William Henry, migrated across the states and settled in the Spokane WA area. William Henry Edes is my husband's great-great grandfather. I will gladly share info.
