A miniature book of inspirational verse, dated 1852, was among my mother's personal effects. I have no clue as to its provenance except the faint pencil inscription "G. J. Edgecombe, Bath, ME" in the front. I am not quite certain about the initials but I am sure the spelling of the surname is correct.

My mother, Stella Leonard Block (1929-2003) was born in Bath, Maine, the younger child of Grace Boynton Leonard (1895-1985) and Henry Dietrich Block.

I do not know the identity of the Edgecombe named in the book, or this person's relationship to our family. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
