There was a Margie Edgin in Benton, AR - I can't remember her husband's name for sure (Booger-?); they had a daughter named Sandrea and a son (can't remember name) and was living with Margie about 5 years ago. They are no relation to me but were friends of my aunt and uncle. Don't know anything about my Edgin's past my grandfather, Thomas Marion Edgin.

Theresa, I am looking for a James A Edgin that was married to Nelle Bigbee (b.1918) and had a son named Glenn. Nelle's parents were William Edward Bigbee (b.1888) and Emily Lindsey Morgan (b.1890). Have you found your information? I have the PA Edgin's in my tree, #1548 on Vol 1 of the World Family Tree. "Jake" is Jacob Edgin, the dod you have is incorrect.

Edgin, James A.

EDGIN, JAMES A., 88, of Mt. Washington died Wednesday, May 16, 2007. He was a retired builder and master woodworker, an Army veteran of World War II ,a member of the old Davis Memorial Baptist Church and he attended South Watterson Trail Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, the former Nelle Bigbee; son, Glenn Edgin; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; brother, Clyde Edgin; and sister, Virginia Hunter. His funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. on Friday.

I havn't been able to do much more in research in the last couple of weeks. But i'm hoping to have time next week as things begin to slow down again lol. I know that george was in the army at one time i belive he was disonable discharged. But finding anything on him or his family has been pretty hard I know Kizzie's dad's name was James French but i couldn't find anything about who her mother is. I think that James Edgings came from Kentucky. But hopfully i will have some time next week to get back into it.

I havent exactly figured it out yet but I was wrong before when I said George was Belle's brother. I have looked through these copies of census papers and Belle's brother is James Edging. Kizzie is listed as mother n law in 1910 and George and Vadie Edgin are listed as brother n law and sister n law. There has got to be a connection here. It shows that Keziah L. French m. James V. Edgin 21 Jan 1883. Maybe we can figure this out together. Kim

Thank you for responding to my post. I'm looking for Harriet Brannon's parents. Harriet married G. J. Edgens. I have stories on them: traveling from SC with her father and Egens, raising their family,
after his death, she located to Cave Springs, Ga., etc. I have found a G. J. Edens in Spratanburg, S.C census and a record of marriage in Alabama between G. J. Edgens and Harriet Brannon. Edgens is reportly to have fired the first shot of the Civil War. Historical markers in Alabama also claim the same. Thank you in advance for any information you can share.

Got as far as finding my grandfather was William Franklin Edgin. Married Fannie (Francis) Leasure. Had three children that I know of, my father, Franklin Eugene, James A. and Winona Joyce.

Story was, William Franklin changed his last name to Allen and moved to New Mexico and raised a second family.

My grandmother was Mary Phronia Reynolds Fulkerson.

I've got an Emily Edgin living in Cheatem County Tennessee in 1860 with several girls. She is listed as head of household. In 1870 I have her in Henderson County, Kentucky with a J.C. Edgin and the same girls. J.C. is listed as head of household.

One of the girls is my gggrandmother, Mary Cartharine "Mollie" Edgin.

Anyone have any information on Emily?

Where is Maury County in relation to Cheatam County? I understand that my Edgins and Reynol(ds) were in and out of Cheatam and Robertson Counties.

I don't understand where J.C. was in 1860. What could have been going on that would have Emily by herself with all those kids?

Have a lot of infomation and still gathering more it just takes a lot of time. Right now my uncle is doing some research and has all my documents on these familys. I even know how and when they traveled because my mom and dad stayed at the farm in Cavesprings, GA. and were told stories from Jeffs kids, which are my dads uncles and aunt. George married Annie Mae Myrick in Henry County Tn.

I belive he was in the army. Annie i know lived in Chicago IL for awhile. But both are Buried in Tn.

They had Katherine which was given up by adoptin and was adopted by the Bibles.

And they Had Loreane.

Martha Catherine was a daughter of Thomas Edgin (born in North Carolina about 1790 and died in Franklin County, Arkansas about 1880) and Catherine Conatser Edgin (born in Tennessee about 1798 and died in Franklin County, Arkansas about 1880. I would be very pleased to exchange information concerning this family.

I am aware of two groups of Edgins in Maryland. One group came from Maryland and Delaware in the early 1800's. The second group are descendents of Eli Edgin who was born in North Carolina about 1806 and Ann Stephenson. Eli's group left Maryland and Delaware about 1780's and moved to North Carolina. Eli moved to Indiana in the 1830's. I would be pleased to exchange information.
