Boy am I really excited !!!!! I &my mother ,Ida Margaret Means
have been at a dead end on the Edgington side for a while.
The bible I am referring to was in the posession of my Great Aunt Dorothy Duke Means Gantley. Their home caught fire and the bible was burned but saved. There is some h2o damage to it so the writing is in places hard to read.
The information regarding Peter W and Sarah J was written by Ida Eliza Edgington Means. Ida Eliza is my mother's Grandmother from whom she was named after.The bible was handed down to the youngest of Ida & George Means's children Dorothy.
Under Marriages : George Bassett Means and Ida Eliza Edgington were married June21,1884.
Then it list their children's Marriages Spouse and date.
Births:
George Bassett Means Born Nov.28,1860 Maysville, Mason Co. Ky.
Ida Eliza Edgington Born June1, 1865, Lewis Co. Ky.
Then it has listed the children and their birth dates and place of birth.(all the dates of the children have been confirmed correct)
Deaths: Sarah J Edgington Died March 29, 1873. Age 53 years
Peter W Edgington Died Feb 24,Either 1905 or 1855 Age 83 years.( H2o damage on the year or death) the first and last digit are clearly 1 and 5. the second number has the edges of an 8.
Ida Eliza Means Died Apr. 5, 1929 Age 63 years 11months 4 days.
George Bassett Means Died August 3, 1934. Age 73 years 8 mos. 5 days.
Then the dates of the children's deaths.
I really hope this is the one in the same Peter W Edgington. We have no info on his wife sarah J. any info regarding her would help us out tremendously. I would like to know more about Edward Lee Bradley and Marlyrn Robinson from your earlier post. How could I get in contact with them and obtain a copy of the bible?
My husband's Father is from the New York area . I am trying to research his side of our family as well, Mrykalo and Olmstead.
