The local newspaper would be the Post Standard - I'm not sure when the Herald Journal merge with them. The Onondaga Co Public Library on S. Salina Street has the newspapers on microfilm for all three Syracuse newspapers (the Herald and the Journal were at one time separate entities). They go way back to the mid to late 1800's.
