Edie Family from Washington Cty, NY

I'm at an impasse and need some help. My grandmother was Lucy Naomi (Edie) LaFontaine. Her father was Asa Howard Edie. Asa Howard Edie's (1877-1954) father was Judson J. Edie (b. abt 1845 in Washington County, NY). It's believed his wife's first name was Margaret (b. 1853). Judson's father was supposedly a William Edie (b. abt 1794) and his wife's name was Lucinda (b. abt 1808). I can find no definitive data on Judson or William. There is another William Edie (b. 1797) who had a son, Judson (b. 1826) and I can't differentiate if this is actually the father of my gggrandfather, Judson. Any help from the Edie clan would be greatly appreciated.

She is my grandmother and married a Patrick. I found all their kids and her 2nd marriage, but that's it. I don't even know my grandpa Patrick's first name! Their kids are Thomas Daniel, Patricia Elaine, Edward Lee, Karen A., and Oliver F.

Do either of you have a Mary Isabel Edie Covey in your line. I too , am having a very difficult time with my Edie line. Mary was born 4Apr1856 and died 1Jan 1935 and was married to my gggrandfather James Edwin Covey. They were married 12 Sep1875 somewhere between Ill and Iowa...most likely Iowa but I'm not sure on that one.

I am looking for information on Rebecca Edie (daughter of David Edie & Margaret Edgington), born about 1800 possibly in Ohio. It is believed she married Moses Badgley abt 1822. I am interested in finding her children and where she died and the parents of Moses. I would also like to make connections with anyone who is researching the David Edie family line. LeRoy Edie Memorial services for LeRoy "Roy" Edie of Grass Valley will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, at the Nevada City Chapel of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary. Mr. Edie died Tuesday, Dec. 21, at Golden Empire Convalescent Home in Grass Valley. He was 91. He was born March 20, 1913, in Pawnee City, Nebraska, to Andrew and Minnie (Shaw) Edie. He lived with his family of nine siblings in the Pawnee City area until he met Alice Havlicek. They were married July 17, 1937, in Marysville, Kansas, and lived in that area until they moved to Northern California in 1942; then they moved to San Leandro in 1950, and then to Grass Valley in 2000. Mr. Edie worked at the Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo, Calif. He was a member of the Automotive Machinist Union and the Teamsters Union. He retired as a driver for Garrett Freightlines Inc. in 1978. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, always caring for his family. Mr. Edie was a hard worker and went out of his way to help others. He loved to play pool, poker and go to Reno with his son. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Alice Edie; sisters, Ruth Morrin of Fitchburg, Mass., and Nadine Wymore of Pawnee City, Nebraska, and brother Thomas Edie of Hastings, Iowa; sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald and Diana Edie of Grizzly Flat and Dennis and Marcia Edie of Grass Valley; grandchildren, Julie Ullom, Jason Edie and Patrick Edie; and great-grandchildren, Kris Edie, Katie Edie and Nate Ullom. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Minnie Edie; sisters, Jessie Edie, Bessie Slack and Lola Clark; brothers, Don Edie, Lavon Edie and Vernon Edie; and granddaughter Katherine Edie.

I am trying to find the maiden name of Guian's wife, Margaret.
The family lived in the Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa area.
There is a good chance she may have been a Bonner.

Hi , I am not sure who Irene Sherbonda belongs to. Who were her parents? I have a picture of head stone that has Hermie &Effie Sherbonda on it . Hermie ,dates were 1898-----1982 Effie dates were 1906----1977. I don't know what they had for a family. In the Sawvell Family Tree we have Mary Sherbonda,married to Albert (Bert ) Sawvell .He was my uncle. They lived at Davenport, Iowa. Mary, was from Monona, Iowa. Bert, was from Monona, Iowa too. Really sorry I can't give more information on Irene .

Hi! My mom's grandmother's name is Minnie Sherbonda from Minona, Iowa. My mom wanted me to see what I could find out on the Internet about her as she doesn't know much about her. I'm excited if this is the same family. My mom's mom's name was Irene. I'm not sure if Minnie was a given name or a nickname.

THE EDIE'S LIVED IN WISCONSIN, AND HAD IMMIGRATED FROM SCOTLAND IN 1847. MY RELATIVE JOHN BEAT MARRIED THEIR OLDEST DAUGHTER MARY ANN, SO THERE APPARENTLY WERE MORE CHILDREN.

Dear TJ, At the time that E-Mail was written I truly believed I was descended through Joseph H. Edie, I read the "EDIE BOOK" talked to many people, and found out via digging and digging, that I am not directly descended through Joseph H. Edie but, through his brother Henry Edie. That Edie Book, is incorrect, so is the part pertaining to Joseph H. Edie, which states that Joseph C. Edie is his son, and that there are two Joseph C. Edie's, and that the real Joseph C. Edie's, 2nd wife was named Pendelton, that is all so very, very wrong. I am descended through Henry Edie, Joseph C. Edie, Alonzo, aka (LON) Edie, Raymond Edie, Shirley Edie, and then me. I am so sorry for the confusion but, I guess if you are related through Henry's brother, we would be distantly related. Mary Sherbonda was my great grnadma, Mary Jane Sawvell was my grandma. I have been trying to complete a family tree for that side, but I don't have much info, can you please help. I have alot of the Stroyan stuff.

Hi Don. Looks like we are both related to David Edie Sr. My line goes through Charles Edie Married to Maude Della Dutton, Charles father John Jr married to Artissima Alissa Jane Edgington, John Sr married to Maria Palmer, David Sr and (not sure where I got the info) but I show him married to a Honour Margaret Edgington. I posted my tree at the David Edie Sr website (myfamily.com)

Sorry I haven't responded sooner. Computer problems. Once I got back on I had to locate all the sites I had posted to. Found my Edie's back to David Edie Sr, b. about 1670 in Scotland. Don't have spouse yet. The one I had started out with there in Philly was, Charles Edie and Maude Della Dutton Edie. They had Gerald, Robert, Wilma, and Virginia (my mother) Are these your Edies. I am seeking information on Arthur S. Edie who married Catherine Alexander on 10/27/1842 in Cecil Co, MD. Edie family trees show Arthur's BD as 5/10/1815 in PA. The 1850 census, however, which shows him living with Catherine, lists his birthplace as PA but lists his age as 55. This would place his BD in 1795. His parents were married in 1794, so this would be reasonable. I would appreciate hearing from
anybody who can shed some light on this matter. Thank you.

Am searching for anything on descendants of John W. Edie and Eliza Sproul Edie. Was able to find them on a couple different censuses, 1870 Tuscarawas County, Ohio and 1880 Perry County, IL. Anyone who has anything on Margaret, Eileen, Andrew, Josiah, Mary Alice or Esther? Would appreciate any info.

Your date is off by 30 years. They were married in 1855. Their 5th son, Josiah, was married in 1886.

finding fiancee's father

i am getting married in 2 1/2 years and would like to find my fiancee's father for him. I don't know all that much about him. All i know is that he was married to kimberly at a young age. She was going on 17 years old when his son, Michael Steven Edie was born. Michael was born on january 28,1979. I think he also has a duaghter named Angel. If anyone knows anything,please contact me.
