My grandmother was Alda Eliza Edinburg. I believe her father was Warren Edinburgh. His first wife (her mother) passed away shortly after her birth. I would like any information you can provide.

My 2nd great grandfather was Christopher Columbus Edinburgh, one of the original settlers of walker County Texas and the MRCA of the Edinburghs of Texas. He fathered 8 children and I have some information on each of these branches.
I would be happy to share my research with you if you contact me directly through this web site.

If you are related to Warren Edinburgh then we are probably cousins.

Hi.How are yall.Im am related to Christopher C.Edinburgh My last name is Stevens but my mothers Madin name is Edinburgh. If you go to the Cemetery He was You can tell that most of my family is buried there.I use to clean that place up with my grandpa Wayne Edinburgh The cool this is that My family is the 7th genneration of this family.And I am only 12 years old about to turn 13.Ribert Cooper I am related to you I dont even know you But I am CAuse My grandpa is your uncle.We have such a big family like half of it is Buried In that Cememtery and imma be Buried in it when my time for death comes..

For those who don't know - Post Office Directories for several years from 1773-74 to 1801 and all years from 1804 through 1911 are available at http://www.nls.uk/family-history/directories/post-office/ind...

The easiest way to download is to click on the link to 'view book online'. Once that opens - there is a link on the top left side 'Post Office Edinburgh and Leith directory' - click on that link and choose B/W PDF - that is a black and white PDF copy you can download [smaller than the color version].
After is downloads - save it and you can search for anyone's name. has addresses and also can search for addresses and find who lives on the same street. I found my greatx3 grandfather and then found his mother on the same street.
[there is a choice of just opening the PDF from the website, but I found it very slow]

My Beatrice (Beatrix) was born 1796 in Traquair and was the daughter of Michael Lambert a miller, and Helen Scott.
She married Andrew Ketchen who is buried at Carrington.I have been to Carrington and stood at the grave.

Beatrice died 1864 in Temple and am now planning a last trip to Scotland and would like to stand at the grave of Beatrice.
Where would someone who died in Temple be likely to be buried?

Any ideas on this family or where Beatrice might be resting would be a great help.

Looking for any connections to the above. They married 27 Apr 1879 at 24 Bedford Ter., Edinburgh. I can't find them on any subsequent census.

I'm guessing they probably left the UK but if anyone knows differently .....

Thomas was a Florist aged 47, born Peebleshire and married to Christina, born Fifeshire, Dunfirmline, Maiden name unknown aged 48.
I hope that Thomas is the son of John BROWN and Janet KERR. Any connection or information would be just great.

Charles YOUNG & Agnes REID. John YOUNG & Margaret KETCHEN

Looking for descendants of the above.
Charles and Agnes had Charles, Agnes, Janet,Robert, and John who married Margaret Ketchen in 1838 and had Agnes,Margaret,John and Isabella.
Margaret Ketchen Young died in 1870 and John in 1889.

Would be terrific if anyone knew of this family and contacted me.

Anybody doing research on the Fergie family from Portobello(?)
Edinburgh. Mr grandfather was John William Fergie b. around 1889 to a Thomas Fergie (Lithographic Printer) and Isabella Fergie (nee Ross). Dont have much info but believe they may be from the Portobello area. My grandfather( who was an electrician) moved to Motherwell around about 1910 and married and brought his family up there. Anyone with any information re other siblings, etc gratefully received.

I'm looking for descendants of a William Henry Waters and Jane Kinnear who married 1875 in Canongate, Edinburgh. William Henry was born in Mancester 1856 and moved to Edinburgh by 1871. He was a railway clerk. They had the following children: Charlotte Jane, William George, Arthur, Elizabeth, Robert, David, John, Benjamin and Isabella.

Thanks for the reply - I already had the census info (I guess I should have indicated that in my first message). What I can't find is anything on Susannah's parents or Benjamin's. I also can't trace their other older children Maryann, William, Sarah, and Thomas. Also the Ada on the census died that year as they had another Ada shortly after the census. They also had a Bertha, Joseph, Harold and Frederick after the census.

I am researching all descendants of Christopher C. Edinburgh of Walker County, Texas. His wife's name was Lucida Birdwell. children were: Warren, Ann (my GGrandmother). May have had other children, but I have no other names. Christopher moved to Texas in 1824, served under General Sam Houston during the battle of San Jacinto for Texas independence.
