I have a book in my possesion - as in regards to the title. If you have a family member who settled in Wisconsin.

John Darwin
Married Nancy Ann (HUBBARD) Esmond
Natives of New York State.
A Farmer and pioneer of Yorkville Racine. Took up Government land. Died Nov 7, 1847 while his widow Nancy Ann (HUBBARD) Esmond survived until 1899, being 81 yrs old. Both were Congregationalist.

CHILDREN: John D. (Deceased); Delilah Antoinette (widow of Alva Winslow), Harriet Augusta (wife of Albert Dimmick of Deer Park Ill) and James Oscar.

There son James Oscar Esmond was born in Yorkville, Racine WI. Owns 200 acres of farm land.
His grandparents died in New York.

In 1864 he enlisted as a private in Company G. 43rd WIS. V. I. and served until the close of the war participating in the battles of Johnsonville, Tenn., and Marble Hill., Tenn as well as a forced march on Nashville. Recieved a Honorable discharge went to work in Utica, ILL...................
