I am looking for information on a Mary Edmunds/Edmonds who married John Swinnock in 1675 in Maidstone Kent. They were my 7th Great Grandparents and I'm wondering if there is anything about them that anyone can offer. I am interested in who the family were - what they did etc etc.

re: Edmonds/Edmunds- family, my family lived in Hainesport-Lumberton, nj area. Rebecca & William had 9 children; Agnes,Annie,George,William,Emma, Cordelia,Ella, Daniel, Edward. Most of family died by the early 1930's. In the census of 1870- all were born in n.j. have no info on Rebecca & Wm.'s side of family membrs. The family stayed here in n.j . Annie married Charles H. Peterson; Ella ma. Richard Lute; Cordelia ma. George Shemeley. no other info.

Virginia, I am looking for information on a Stephen Edmunds Born 1815 claims in New York, Son of John Edmunds of NY or Vermont. Moved to Ohio, serves in the Civil War from Ohio. He states that his father was John but no mention of any name for his mother. I have found a Stephen on an early Essex, County census and than in Batavia, New York. Stephen also mentions having a canal boat. I want to locate birth information in particular and know who his mother is.Can you help?

This is not a geneological quest, merely an attempt at finding a dear, dear friend with whom I've lost contact. His mother's name is Francis (Coe is her married name, I do believe). I am quite sure that Alan is somewhere near the Mary Esther/ Ft. Walton Beach area of Florida. He should be close to forty years old. Hi, thanks for replying.
Looked at my family Edmund and they are from Aberdare Glamorgan. They are on the 1841 and 1851 census in Trecynon Aberdare, Elizabeth has no brother John then, but her first brother was William b.1829, John could have been born before this date and left home before the census!!! John could even be a brother to Lewis Edmund b.abt.1795, he was Elizabeth father. On the 1851 census it says he was born in LLanild Glamorgan before moving to Aberdare and marrying Anne Davies on 27-10-1827.
We might not even be the same family,but it is a lot of hit and miss. Just wishing.
Still not found mine after the 1851 census, but they are back by 1866 when Elizabeth got married.

I don't have any theories other than the obvious; they were cousins, etc. I did find that Howell was listed on a ship manifest in 1640 (ish). Where is Charles City?

Interested in any theories regarding how Howell connects to William Edmunds who died c1689, Charles City. William's wife, Sarah, married second John LANIER and had more children by him, suggesting (possibly) that William Edmunds died young. My guess at William's birth date would be 1650-1660. Also interested in what happened to William's and Sarah's daughter, Elizabeth.

I would imagine you have all the wills and deeds available both for John Lanier (Lanyer) and for William and Howell Edmunds. If not, please let me know if you have the 6 Jan. 1701 deed of Thomas Blunt to Howell Edmonds and wife, Elizabeth Edmonds..love and affection to my daughter Elizabeth.........

The first reference I have for my ancestor Capt. John Mason is when he witnessed a deed between Thomas Chappell and John Lanyer (Lanier) 7 July 1712 Prince George Co.

I also noticed you are researching the Wray(Rhay) and Mabry families. When you have time, please contact me to discuss these families also.

I too am descended from some of the same folks in your posting as my ancestors were Christopher Mason and Sarah Chappell which of course takes one back to the Briggs and Floods. I've a name in my research that I've looked at many times wondering if this ancestor was named for her mother's maiden name of Francis. Robert Russell, b. Guilford Co. NC 1789, moved to Hardin Co.TN prior to the 1820 Census. His first daughter was named Elizabeth FRANCIS Russell born 1813. We haven't located her mother's name and I wondered if you may have come across a Russell and Francis marriage in this timeframe?

Hi,

I'm looking for information regarding my Great, Great, Great Grandfather. He was from South Wales. I have gathered the following information.

He was a coal miner and was born in Pembrokshire, possibly Rose Market around 1832.

He is on the 1871 census living in Eglwysilan Glamorgan with his wife Ann and two children James and John.

He then appears on the 1881 census in Trimdon County Durham with Ann, James, John, William, Mary Ann, Thomas and Margret.

I know that his son John Died aged 13/14 in the explosion at Trimdon Colliery in 1882.

Thomas died in 1903 as a result of injuries received in an accident in 1885.

I have further information of the family in the 1901 census.

I can't find any other information relating to John in the Ancestry databases. I would be grateful of any assistance, even if it's pointing me in the right direction on where to find further information.

On the 1851 census they are living Trecynon, Aberdare and by 1871 her mother had died and she had married Richard Owen. Here are the facts I know:

Gunda Christofferson was born in Minnesota, USA on April 27, 1885 to Albinus and Elina Christofferson and Died April 2, 1959 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Gunda and her husband E. Edmunds (that is all we know) had three children - Ralph, Kenneth and Irene.

Kenneth Ernest Edmunds born on June 16 1912 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Married Alvina Kaechele on Dec 4, 1934 and had two children. One is my Mother-in-law.

If you can help me find out who E. Edmunds was I would be happy to hear from you.

My Ms * EDMUNDS family were from MONMOUTH, brother Henry was friendly with the ROLLS family, he emigrated to BC Canada. Another sister Mary Jones lived in Treorchy and had 9 children.

My 2nd great grandfather was named John Edmunds and he immagrated from Wales to Pennsylvania sometime before 1850. He was born 22 Oct 1812 in Llangardog, Carmarthenshire, Wales. He married Mary Ann Lord (b. in Kent, England)on 9 Apr. 1829 in New York City. As far as I know they had seven children.
My knowledge of Wales georgraphy and place names is not too good and there thus may not be any connection.

Not sure I can be too much help but... my great great grandfather, John Edmunds, may be related to Elizabeth. I have been able to track his origins to Aberdare. He emigrated to Minersville, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, USA around 1870. Please see the attached pdf files. I hope to travel to Aberdare in the near future to determine if I can find additional information about John, in particular, his parents and siblings.

Gareth, How about a bit more info re: your Edmunds please. My great great grand daddy, John Edmunds, from Aberdare, Glamorgan emigrated to Minersville, Pennsylvania in 1870 with his family. I have no history on him prior to that since I haven't had the time to search records before the UK census started. My mother's family (Jenkins) were associated with Fluer de Lis, Monmouthshire for a time. I know there was an Edmunds family that lived in the town but do not believe they are connected with me family but who knows. It isn't taht far away from Aberdare. Bill

Thomas Edmund married Sarah first. After her death he married her sister Margaret Nicholas, residence Irongate Farm, Llanthewy Vach, Mon. Co. in 1881 census.

This ancestor was born to William Brown and Mary Davies in York County, SC in 1807. The name Edmunds implies to me that perhaps her mother Mary was an Edmunds who married a Davies. I'm trying to research this link but so far no luck. William Brown and Mary Davies were maried in Lincoln COunty, NC in 1806. Prior to that, William came from Harford County, Maryland. Anyone with any info remotely related to this Edmunds would be helpful. Looking for a Mary Edmunds who married ---Davies.
