just looking around the the web and came across your message.I am charles edson. My Dad was Sidney, born 1910. his dad my granddad killed in ww1. If you check the commonwealth war graves web site, you will find him. Sherwood foresters regiment, buried in Meaulte France.I only recently (5yrs) came across this information and will i hope get over to France to see the grave.One of the sons emigrated to Australia during the 50s.
My Dad deserted his family around 1960 I was 4 yrs old. I never heard from him again but have found out he died in London in 1975. Quite sad as I have very fond memories of him even after all these years. As you would expect my Mother had a really hard time bringing 4 boys up through the 60s with no state available then.I have contact with several other edson family members living around Lincoln.
