I've just discovered that my GGGGGrandfather James Egan was born in BALLYNACARRIGY, Co Westmeath, which I believe is not far from Mullingar. I don't know his birthdate, but he had a son Thomas Patrick who was born in 1819. Thomas and his brother William later emigrated to Liverpool in the UK.
