I have made a few other posts regarding my Swiss decendents. I recently found that although my name was always spelled Egger, my family actually spelled their name Eggen on all of the records in Switzerland. I would never have thought it was spelled any other way than Egger, which almost kept me from locating my ancestors. If anyone is researching their Egger name, they may want to keep this in mind. Is there anyone else out there who maybe has decendents from Switzerland that spelled their name Eggen? My family is from Utzigen, parish of Reutigen and Niederstocken. My ggrandfathers name was Niklaus Egger/Eggen b.1844 to Christen Eggen and Magdelena Wegmueller. He came to this country in 1880, lived in Stark Co. OH before moving to the Swiss Colony in London, KY (Laurel Co.) in 1903. He married Rosina Dellsperger in 1865,while still in Switzerland, and 2nd married Elizabeth Seigenthaler (also from Switzerland)in Stark Co OH. Any possible connections?
