I'm trying to find out who my great, great grandfather, James Johannes Eggers', parents & siblings were. He was born in Schwerin, Mecklenburg, Germany in 1832. He immigrated to America about 1850 or 1851. He served in the Civil War twice. Once in the Union Navy in Texas & once in the Union Army for Illinois. He married Rachel Mecum & had 5 children: Charles, James, George, Emma, & Elva. They lived in Bureau County, Illinois.
