Minerva Egleston m. Clinton H. Spencer

Hello!

I'm trying to discover more information about my Great-great Grandmother, Minerva Egleston. She was born in September 1876 and she married Clinton H. Spencer about 1895. My great-grandmother's marriage record claims that Minerva was born in Paris, France, but the 1900 Census says that she was born in Connecticut, her father was born in England and her mother was born in France.

I also found death records for three of their children that says she was born in Windsor Locks, Connecticut. I know they had at least five children:

Olive W. (Winnaford, Winnifred) - B. April 1897 - M. Myrton Ellis Hollis, Sr. (She remarried, but I can't remember the man's name. I'm not certain whether she and Myrton divorced or if he died. I believe they divorced.)

Albe? (Albert?) E. - B. November 1898

Clinton H. - B. 20 April 1900 - D. 16 July 1900

Clinton H. - B. 22 June 1901 - D. 27 February 1903

Edward Orlando Spencer - B. 4 September 1902 - D. 21 February 1903

All of the children were born in Massachusetts, I believe in Boston, since death records of the last three boys indicates they were born, and died, in Boston.

I also have a bit of a puzzle, because I know Minerva's husband is named Clinton H. Spencer because of the children's death records, and the death records also record Minerva's maiden name as Egleston, just as my great-grandmother's marriage did. I believe Clinton H. Spencer is the son of Freeman and Rosette (Rosetta) Spencer. However, I found a marriage record from 1907 that indicates that Clinton H. Spencer, son of Freeman and Rosette Spencer married a woman by the name of Minerva Clough. It shows that Clinton was born in Bangor, Maine, just as my Clinton. Minerva Clough was born in France and she is the daughter of Jacob M. Clough and Minerva St. Germaine. This Minerva and Clinton were married in the town of Malden? on 9 August 1907. He was 49 and she was 25. It claims that this is a first marriage for both parties, but I know something could have happened to make Clinton just say this was his first marriage.

I haven't found a death record for MY Minerva yet, nor have I found a divorce record for Minerva Egleston and Clinton H. Spencer, so I don't know if I have MY Clinton's parents wrong, if something happened to Minerva or their marriage, or if this is an entirely different Clinton.

If anyone can help me with more information about Minerva Egleston Spencer, or if you can help shed some light on my puzzle, I would be grateful!

My 3rd great grandmother Martha Eg(g)leston was married to Aaron Barns of Sharon, Litchfield Co., CT in the late 1700s. Between 1810 and 1820 the family had moved to Mentz, Cayuga Co., NY, where Aaron died in 1824. I would like to know the name of the Treat that Martha subsequently married. (There were many Treats in the area, most or all of whom came from Litchfield Co., CT.)

My Grandmother was Mary Lillian Egleston(b.1911). Her parents were George & Lillian (McDonald) Egleston. Here's what I do know- Mary had a brother Charles (b.1912). Lillian died when the children were young (bef. 1920). I had originally heard that George (b. 1883) died shortly after, but I have found his family in the census up to 1930. George's Mom was Ida M. (Tichenor) Egleston. He had brothers- William (b. 1882) and Robert (b. 1890), and a sister listed as both Jessie M. and Eleanor (b. 1892), who is listed in George's household as married with the last name of Russell.
I would like to find out his father's name, and maybe what became of his siblings.
All help is appriciated.

Egleston/Egglestons in Ohio

looking for information on Hiram Egleston born in New Hampshire in either 1803 or 1793. He was married to Barbary(Barbara) Allen McGraw and moved to Ohio. (I don't know when he moved to Ohio, only that he was there by 1860.) He may have lived in Indiana for a time as a biography of one of his sons says the son was born in a Cherokee Indian tent in Indiana. Hiram and Barbara had the following known children: Byron (b. 1837 in Indiana), Lorinda (b. 1842 in Utica Ohio), Henry (b.1844 in Ohio), Elder (b.1845 in Ohio), Sylvester (b. 1849 in Ohio), Ellen (b.1853 in Ohio), and Dalie (female) (b.1855 in Ohio) there may have been another son. The 1860 census has an 18 year old male living with the family but only gives the initial "A"...family lore had a group of rhyming names "Loraine,Lorinda, Lucinda, Matilda, Hiram, Byron, Adnyron, Henry, and Sylvester."..."A" could be Adnyron. Does anyone recognize any of these names? any info would be greatly appreciated! Can give more info if anyone needs it, including full biographical sketch of Byron Eggleston from Mt. Vernon, Ohio History Book.

I do not have any information on Hiram, however, I'm sure I'll be needing it as well. Byron would be my great-great-great-grandfather. I know that he was a physician and resided in the Mt. Vernon, Ohio area. I also know he was married to Elizabeth but that's about all I have. Could you share any other information regarding Byron and his ancestors? Good luck and thanks very much! I'd love to hear from you.
Nicole
