Hello
This Ehret line came from Germany through Russia, to the United States in the late 1880's, most settled firstly in South Dakota, Campbell County, then branched out to Idaho, Montana, Washington, and other states as well as Alberta, Canada.
I have data for your Michael Ehret. He passed away at Napoleon, North Dakota, in the 1920's and his wife passed away at Hilda, Alberta, Canada. The daughter Elizabeth lived in Alberta as did another daughter who married a Fandrich. Michael was a brother to Dorothea who married Peter Wentz who also lived at Napoleon. I have extensive data for this entire family including a branch in Montana and my connection near Medicine Hat, Alberta. Willing to exchange data at cost. Am currently in Florida but have my Ehret family files with me. Also included in this information are the Rudolph, Wolfer and Wenz familes who connect to the Ehret line.
Am also in search of another brother of the Ehret from Gueldendorf, Odessa, line. This brother came to North America in the 1880's and the only data I have about him is that he was a a piano maker in Chicago. I am not even sure what his first name was. The Ehret name is quite common in Cook County, Illinois.
Also have much detail about another Ehret, one Samuel who settled near Burlington, Iowa, about 1840. Am looking for data about one of his daughters who married Mr. Bird and lived in Illinois. A sister to Samuel Ehret, married a David Werner, they also came to America about 1840 and settled in Iowa. I have some data about this group.
