Jacob,
I find these folks all very fascinating...something different from the farmers and laborers typically found in my tree. Even though they are related through marriage; as I said before, it all started as a quest to try to figure out why 2 Munn brothers in Melrose, MA each named a son after people I had never heard of: one was Ralph Trautman Munn and the other was George Blampey Munn. It tells me that this brother William Munn in New York must have remained close to them to some degree.
Well, do let me know if you come across any of these names within your circle of living descendants! I am kind of obsessed with finding out anything I can about what I call my "Seven Munn Siblings", all children of Jesse and Harriet (Reed) Munn of Brighton, England and later New York City. (1. Charlotte (Munn) Crowell of Phila; 2. Laurence Kemp Munn of Phila. & Melrose, MA; 3. William Munn of Brooklyn & Geneva, NY; 4. John R. Munn of Phila & Camden, NJ; 5. Elizabeth (Munn) Mendum of Melrose, MA; 6. Jesse Munn, Jr. of Lebanon, OH; 7. my gr gr grandfather, Thomas Jefferson Munn of Melrose, MA.) Many of them lived rather interesting lives and were involved with Abolitionists, Women's Suffragists and Freethinkers.
I wonder if you have any ideas for the other poster who was inquiring about Frank A. Haas? Have you come across him at all?
If she's reading this: I'd be happy to research him with a little more info. I was surprised how many hits I got for the name Frank Haas so I can't determine which one is the one that belongs to her!
