Hello,

Were the correct Christian name of the mother Anna Maria, nee Kreutzer? And she was born 1818? Had the family 1867 emigrated?
I then think that the family came from a village close to the town of Cologne.

Konni

Just an update to some of hte dates. After looking thru each census it seems Peter's year of birth changed on each one but it is definately him as the wife and children never changed. The most consistent year puts him born around 1847 in Germany, the area of Prussia. I now believe his Fathers nmae was Peter as well and his mother is either named Mary or Anna or a combination of the 2. There is a 1870 census that says Mary born 1818 then the 1880 census says Anna A. also born 1818. If anyone has info that matches this or anything to point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.

I am researching Eich ancestry and have reached a point at which I am stuck. I am at Peter Eich married to Mary Shertz(Schertz). The census records tell me Peter is born in Germany around 1855 and arrived in US around 1870. Not a single census I have found lists his father or mothers name. They do all say both parents were from Germany.

I have been searching immigration records and the only ones I find that have a Peter entering the US at that time with that birthdate say he was with parents Joseph and Rosina Eich. Every search I have done for either of them comes up with nothing at all. I dont even know if these are the correct parents for him.

If anyone has information or is researching the same lineage I would love to share information.
MEich

Mathias Eich can be found in the 1910 Pennsylvania, Allegheny County Census records. He is listed as being 46 yrs. old, place of birth Germany. He is my greatgrandfather. "Rumor" has it that he had to flee from Germany and that when he reached America, he shortened his name. He was also suppose to be a theology student in Germany. I am very interested in finding out more about him. I think a good resource could be "ellisisland.org". The web site is very busy, but I am going to keep trying. I would appreciate any information you could give me, and would be glad to share any info I have with you. Happy Hunting!

I am looking for any information on a Jacob Eich who was born on Jan. 30, 1792. According to "The Early Germans in N.J." he was the son of Jacob and had several brothers and sisters, one of which is John and who is mention again in the book and is believed to have stayed in the area of Hunterdon County. My ggggrandfather is a Jacob Ike, born on the same date and is buried at Waterloo Village. He married a Sarah Tyger who is buried next to him. The decendants names are basically the same as in the "book". If anyone has information on what happened to Jacob Eich and his family would you please contact me. Thanks!

I come from the same EICK line as your husband and have info back to Anthony Tunis EICK, b. abt. 1720 & d. 1791; m. abt. 1743 Catherine ?, b. 1724 & d. 1781 (not totally sure about her dates, but sound reasonable). I go on down from their son, Anthony Tunis EICK, Jr., b. 1755 & d. 1830, who married Susanna TAYLOR; and their daughter Jane EICK, b. 1807 or 1810 & d. 1861, who married Charles Green WATERHOUSE. Anthony, Jr. & Susanna had a son Taylor EICK, b. 1786 & d. 1836, who married Ann HORNER, and their son Jonathan EICK, b. 1819 & d. 1897, who married Mary Ann BALDWIN is your husband's Jonathan. All of above were from Kingwood Twp., Hunterdon Co., NJ.

Also, have possible 2 other generations (even farther back) that MIGHT somehow connect to the 1st Anthony Tunis EICK.

If you need any of this, just let me know. I want to share what I can.

Bonnie

I lived up there 14 years from 1962-1976. We now live in Thomson, GA Hope you have luck with your search. God Bless You & Yours
Pat Burgess Eick for my husband (Bob)
