Eichelbergers who are interested in DNA and Geneaology

My Grandfather was an Eichelberger (Harry Jack) as is my mother. I just bought a kit for my Uncle. I recently took over the Eichelberger Surname Project @ FTDNA. This group is open to any all Eichelbergers who may be interested in confirming family lines etc and is open to any spelling variation. Our public page is here: http://www.familytreedna.com/public/eichelberger/

My email is battyzionmiller@hotmail.com, I check it everyday and would love to hear from cousins far and wide.

Adam Eichelberger Westmoreland Co, PA 1786

This is not my line but in case someone can connect, I found patents for tracts of land for Adam Eichelberger in 30 jan 1786. The names of the tracts may give you clues to origins in Germany, as he named one tract "Heidleberg" and another "Anspach." The patent index is here: http://www.phmc.state.pa.us/bah/dam/rg/di/r17PatentIndexes/P...

And there may be more here"http://www.phmc.state.pa.us/bah/dam/rg/di/r17PatentIndexes/r...

Hope this makes someone's day.
Laura in NC

Any one have a Della (possibly Lamar or Watkins) marrying a J.E.(?) Eichelberger in Jasper Co., MO in early 1900's? Have a Della Eichelberger marrying a Bert Martin in same area in 1914 but am not sure if Eichelberger is Della's maiden name or if Della had married an Eichelberger and then married Bert Martin. My Della Watkins born abt 1878, possibly married to John Minifee, then married to Elmer Lamar, then possibly to Eichelberger, then to Bert Martin.
My grandmother came here in the 1960's from Austria and she was called Linda Eichelberger. I don't know if she's still alive but I'm trying to track her down.

Just try to establish relation or family tree to General Eichelberger. My Grandfather Willis Woodrow Eichelberger & my father Walton Leon Eichelberger both passed away have mention him in my younger years as being related to us and have pictures of him. I'm just trying to verify this and if so how the tree flowes down to me.

She may be my half sister if her father's name was Ray Eichelberger, who used to live in Pennsylvania.

Laurel
Eichelbergers in the Lancaster County area

My dad's name was Jake Eichelberger. He was a blacksmith for over 50 years in the small town of Intercourse, Pennsylvania. His father George D. became estranged from his wife and the other two boys; however, my father kept in touch with him as a small boy up until George died in the mid 1960s. I haven't been able to get any information from the one remaining brother of my father, and so it has been difficult to get much further with the generations prior to George D. I came across some that may possibly be, but I am not sure.

My husband's GGGrandfather was William Eichelberger (1831-?) and he lived in Lancaster, NY. Is it possible that he was Mary's brother? The earliest record I have is William and his wife Dorothea (& children) on the 1860 Lancaster Census. Their name was spelled Shleberger on the 1860 Ancestry index. Do you have any information to support a link between the two families? I have no information beyond William and Dorothea.

Aurora was my great-grandfather's second wife. They were married is 1905 in Ogallala NE. Her father's name was John, but I can't remember more than that. My house is in the process of a big remodel at this time, and all my geneology stuff is in storage. It may be a couple of months, but when I get it back, I'll look up what I have on that family and get back to you.

Hi,
I am searching for my great-g-grandfather, John Eichelberger. He was probably born between 1814 and 1820, in Pennsylvania. His father was probably born between 1785 and 1795 and could have been named Martin, because John named his first son, Martin. He also had a daughter, Catherine Mary Ann. John left Pennsylvania sometime before 1840, because he married in Butler County, Ohio in 1841.
If this looks like it could be linked to your data, maybe we can help each other.

Sincerely,
John Igleburger
