Oh yes, this is definitely the same family. Maggie was a younger sister of my great-grandmother, Mary. Talk about serendipity in genealogy! Within the last month, I went back to the Eichmanns and did extensive filling in of the family. Got all involved in tracking those Bimsons to Arizona. How weird is that? Contact me at dc91047 "at" windstream.net.
--Cindy

Hi Cindy -- So pleased to see your post. I'm tracking a line back through apparently another daughter, Margaret Emma Eichman, b. 1864 in Hannibal, who m. Alfred George Bimson in 1887 in Marion. She moved with him to Colorado before 1900 and lived there until he died in 1947. She then joined her sons in Phoenix, where she d. in 1965 at age 101. Her sons founded the largest bank in Arizona and were very important in the development of Phoenix. Just to make sure we have the same Eichman family, does your info about George Eichman agree with mine except for the name? I don't have any info about his other children, so I can't check it out. Let me know if you want to share tree access.

Hi Kathleen,
This is my great-great grandfather through his daughter, Mary Eichmann Bogenschutz. I have his name as George Friedrich Eichmann. His father was Johann (John) Rudolph Eichmann. I have been working on this line off and on but recently have discovered that the family may have stopped in Chillicothe, Ohio before moving west to Quincy, Illinois. John Rudolph Eichmann may have died in Ohio. I'll be happy to exchange info.
--Cindy

I have a copy of Galveston,Texas passenger list(1896-1948) that shows George Eichman arrival Aug.6,1907 from Bremen, Germany on the ship named Hannover. I do not now if Fredrick and Elizabeth came to Colorado. I have not found any information showing they came to US. Check out census for Colorado for years 1920 and 1930. Use Katrina Elizabeth as search and Frederick as father and see what you come up with. I will keep digging for more on you great grandma.

So, I may have the maiden name of Elizabeth Foos wrong since your Grandfather George and my Great Grandmother Kathrina were siblings. Do you know if Frederick and Elizabeth came to America? My Great Grandmother, Kathrina, came in 1922 with four of her children-no husband. When did your Grandfather George come to America and where did he go? I still have Eichman relatives in Sugar City.

I am afraid not. I am a descendants of a Margaret Haughney who married into the Dooling family in Philadelphia in the 1870s. The Doolings originally settled in Minersville, Schuylkill Co. There are loads of Haughneys in Schuy. Co. I have been tracing several Haughney families in the area trying to make a connection to my Margaret Haughney. George Francis Eichman (b 18 May 1909 in Mahanoy City; d Apr 1980 in M.C.) married a Margaret Haughney (b 1914; d 31 Dec 1966). George Francis parents were George J (b 25 Sep 1880 in M.C.; 23 Jun 1930 in Locust Valley, Pennsylvania, USA) & Emily Ward (b 13 Jun 1883; d 07 Aug 1962). George Francis had a daughter named Patricia Eichman (b & d in 1935). My sources on all of this stem from One World Tree. And that's all I know about the Eichmans. Not of much help I suspect.

My grandmother was Magdalena. My mother was Mathilda Heckman. Her maternal grandmother was Matilda Noble Eichman, married to Peter.

I have a wonderful photo of Aunt Gertie. I spent time with Uncle Herb and Uncle George. Aunt Gertie's grandson, Ray Eichman, still lives in Mahanoy city.

I'm moving to Norfolk, VA, on the 14th, so I may change home emails.

I'm excited. Are you related to Aunt Catherine? If so, I've met her, her husband and sons and visited them in their home in Cherry Hill. Is one of them your dad? I was young. I liked them, I remember that.

I'm glad you contacted me. Cousin Kathleen

Hi. I'm currently searching for some of my ancestry and I found a search you posted back in 2000 for the father of your father. Ignatz Essman is my great grandfather. It sounds possible that he could be the link you've been looking for. If you're interested I can provide you with some of what I have recently discovered. It seems he may have had a few different wives and children with them. A decendent of one of his wives recently contacted my uncle because they are searching for answers too. There is a small reference to a fire as well. And divorce. We may be able to turn up answers all together. My great grandfather could be your grandfather. I look forward to hearing from you and would be happy to provide you with any information.

You may contact me at thecleanhouse10940@yahoo.com

They had (I believe) just one child: (my grandmother) Delores Agnes b.1927-1928.
I know that "Fritz"'s family was from Germany and Anna's family was from Austria.
Hi Deb,
Glad to "meet" you cousin! No, I've never been to Berlin, WI and am not close enough to make that trip. I'm in CA. I would love any info you could share with me. I am a descendent of Barbara Lucy Eichman. She married Theophil Bronk and they had a daughter named Anna. Anna was my Dad's grandmother.

I am very interested in finding out more about Josephine Treder and Paul Eichman. They both died in Berlin, WI and were born in Prussia. The name Treder comes up a few times in census records in Berlin, but I have no way to connect them all.

Yes, any info you have or find will be greatly appreciated! Glad we made a connection here. :)

Bingo, I have August, born in 1856. Married Josephine (Jesse) Walrush in 1879. They had 15 children listed on the 1900 census in Berlin with only 7 still alive. Wish I knew what happened there. They eventually had 9 total children. They moved to Beloit sometime before 1910. Their daughter (also named Josephine or Jessie) was my Grandmother. She was married to Joseph Cherney originally from Kewaunee County. August died before 1920, but not yet sure when or how. I have researched that part of the Eichman family if you are interested in more names on your tree! I live in Wisconsin and am planning a trip to Berlin to the courthouse, hopefully this fall. I would be happy to look up some info if you would like. (unless you are close to Berlin and you could help me!) Thanks, Deb

My wife is descended from Andrew Eichman, b. 1842 Germany. Married Dorethea Catherina Fink. He took oath of allegiance in 1863 in Philadelphia and stated on census that he came to USA in 1845. Do you have anything on his particular line? He migrated to Noble County, Indiana and stated he was from Baden, Germany. If he came to USA when he was 3 years old, his parents would have been the ones to immigrate here but have found nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

Kevin Workman
New Haven, IN

Remda married Hinderk Luitjen Dirks on 11/20/1870 after his 1st wife died.
Anna also had a full sister Remda born 4/18/1865. Hinderk had 3 living children from 1st marriage. Remda & Hinderk had 3 children together: Dena, Abel(my grandfather) & Frieda.
August Eichman was born 6/11/1857 in Germany. died 7/3/1942.
They are buried in the Gilman Cemetery in Ashton.

Ray, my parents divorced when I was 1 year old. My mom raised me here in Louisiana and I only saw Dad (George J. Eichman) about 5 or 6 times in my whole life before he passed away in 1999. There is a big giant hole in my personal family story. He has told me that when he was very young, he remembered being able to speak Lithuanian with his mother, Martha. He forgot the language after going to school. When he was alive, I saw pictures of he and his friends (Alice Kezinitis (sp?) and her brother) riding in a sleigh in the snow and I have only one photograph of him at age 7 or 8 holding a book in his hand dressed up for school in his nickers. I remember seeing a graduation photo and he was only one of about 20 or 25 people and he looked like a small kid in the photo. May just have been how he looked, or he might have been very young when he graduated. I know that his parents divorced and his Dad (George Francis) had other children, so there have to be other family members out there. Once his mother re-married Wassil Seminak, his family life was not so great. They both drank a lot and he left home early to join the Army. I know I'm not telling you anything you don't know, but if there is something you can add to help me connect with my very disconnected ancestry, it would be much appreciated. Thanks.
The page below is a History of Schuylkill County from 1881. It lists a John Eichman
who was a Burgess for the borough of Mahony City in 1864. It also states
that he came straight from Germany in 1847 with his wife.

http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/pa/schuylkill/history/l...

You might be able to work from John down to who you are looking for.

-Tim Eichman, genealogy@eichman.net

Nancy,

Not sure if my dad (Ron) got back to you... In mid-July, my wife and I added another grand-daughter to his list of worries and I don't know if he checked back here at all...

As for the siblings of Susan Maria Eichman, we have the same names (although, we didn't see Daniel listed with a last name of Wagner).

Susan's parents, if you don't have them, are William (b. 11/14/1798, d. 12/23/1852) and Helen Maria Weighandt (Weygandt) (b. 1803, d. 3/5/1887, m. 10/14/1824).

I'll have my father get in touch with you (if he hasn't already). He has the master file--the file I have is from before my wife had Tess and is out of date.

-Tim Eichman, Allentown PA
genealogy@eichman.net

my grandfather was born in 1908, i do not have dates on the August Eichmans Except that August Henry Eichman married Anna Dirks and they came here from Germany.. not sure where too though. My granfather's parents lived in Far Northern Iowa and always spoke German in their home.. I will rack my grandma's brain again to try and narrow down a time span... thanks
