Wilhelm Julius Gustav Eichstaedt

looking for information regarding Wilhelm Julius Gustav Eichstaedt who was born about 1858 in Prussia. He emigrated to New Zealand with his sister Emilie in 1874. I have all his descendants if any one is interested. I am having difficulty in researching this line. Any help would be much appreciated.

Being in the Ziegfield Follies was a total scandal in the family. The story is a sad one. It is said Jenny was putting on powder and her face was burned by acid that someone placed in the powder.. Some jealous person!!... Don't know if it is true but that is the story that was handed down.

Thanks for the information. It is too bad that you couldn't find a picture of the "Ziegfield Follies" girls, that would have been great. I still have an Uncle that is living in Florida (John & Bessie Dunczyk's son), and I am going to let him know that, I think he will get a kick out of it.

Dr. Jennie was an older sister of my grandmother, Helen Eichstaedt. Both daughters of Constantin Eichstaedt and Catherine Tesmer.
Also, if my memory is correct, Jeanette(Jenny) Dunczyk (sister of your grandfather John) was one of the "Ziegfield Follies" girls. We searched for a large photo of her when my grandparents died but it was no longer with all the other photos. We were really disappointed.

Carole, I read that Dr. Jennie is your great-aunt. She is my great-grandmother, so I believe we are related. My mother was Eleanor Raczy, the oldest daughter of Bessie & John Dunczyk. My grandpa John was Jennie's son. I am new to this researching the family tree, but would appreciate any info you have.

Any idea where your Eichstaedts or similar spelling were from?
In the Evangelical churchbooks of Gramenz, Kreis Neustettin, Pomerania, Germany, I found several Eichstaedts, e.g. of Lübgust [Luebgust].

Looking for information on a family named Eichstaedt,Eckstadt,Estadt,Eickstaedt and other versions of spelling. This family lived near Delafield or Waukesha, Wisconsin about 1934 to 1940 sometime in that period. They owned and ran a small Tavern in that area. Any information would be helpful. Thank you

Hello, my maiden name is Eichstadt. My father's parents names were Orville and Alice. I know that Orville moved here from Missouri. Unfourtunetley both my grandparents has passed away. just read that you were in Luebust (Lübgust). Did you take any pictures of this village.
Somebody wants to send me a book dealing with castles and manors in Pomerania in which a picture of the castle or manor house of Lübgust is shown. They say that it is in ruins.

Hello Willi, I sure would like the address of the "Landesarchiv Greifswald Archives when you have time to send it to me. It's such a treat to communicate with someone form Germany. My Wellbrock family is also from Germany. We were there in 1998 and I got to meet distant family. It was an experience I'll never forget. They shared so much family information with me. My Wellbrocks are from the Bremervorde area. The Wellbrocks are my paternal side of the family and my Wellbrock grandfather married an Eichstadt. Greetings, Hazel

Pinnow, Kreis Neustettin, Polish name: Pniewo, Lutheran parish in 1905: Hasenfier can be found on www.kartenmeister.com.
There is someone who is doing some research in Hasenfier. Maybe he or she can help you to get further information.

Unfortunately I do not have more copies of pages of the Gramenz churchbooks since no brothers and sisters of my greatgreatgrandfather Carl Reinhard Krüger (Krueger) were found in the baptismal registers.
If you are interested you can contact "Landesarchiv Greifswald" in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. I do not have the address at hand at the moment, but will send it to you if interested. They should understand some English in the archive.

Peter EICHSTAEDT and wife, Anna Schmidt EICHSTAEDT immigrated to the US 29 Jan 1883 on ship "America" from Bremen to Baltimore, and settled probably in Chicago, IL, before moving to Bloomingdale, DuPage County, IL.

Their daughter, Hulda, is my great great grandmother. Hulda had at least two other siblings, Anna and Martin.

Hulda married in Germany, Bernard Pye of Alsace Lorraine, FR, and they immigrated in 1881, settling in DuPage County, IL. Hulda and Bernard's children are named:

Helena (Ella) married Maximillian A. NITSCH
Anna Margaret
Hedwig married Mr. WALLENTER
Franklin
Emma
Bruno married Louise E. MUELLER

Anna F.Eichstaedt was born 16 Jul 1853 in Germany, and immigrated before 1874. She was married 16 Nov 1874 in Chicago, IL to Franz (Frank) Daluga. Their children are named:

Alexander
Angela
Bruno
John Peter
Leo F.
Francis H.
Lydia

Nothing more is known of Martin EICHSTAEDT except he was born Aug 1859 in Germany, immigrated 29 Jan 1883 on ship "America" from Bremen to Baltimore, and died 29 Nov 1913 in Sherman House of either Waukegan, IL or possibly Chicago.

Would love to hear from anyone knowing any of these family members.

Where are they from in Poland?Possible you should search in area north from Poznan and Wagrowiec (near towns:Golancz,Margonin,Chodziez/Kolmar) - there were many families named: Wienke,Eichstaedt,Nowicki, (in my family were too).Many of them emigrated to US. I found a death notice for your Dr. Jennie Eichstaedt Dunczyk. She was buried on Apr. 9, 1949. Her funeral Mass was held at St. Mary of Celle Church at 11 a.m. She lived in Berwyn, IL.

I'm brazilian and my last name is Eichstadt too. My surprise is because in Brazil there is no one with that last name, except my grand father.

Is your family come form Germany - Eichstad?

The only information that we have is that the my grand father's father was come from Germany alone...

My grandmother, Mary Sentowski, married Alexander Karch at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Chicago in 1890. Alexander Donczyk and Wladyslaw Kledzinski witnessed their marriage. Wladyslaw Kledzinski married Julia Dunczyk on 11-21-1892 at St. Adalbert Church in Chicago. Alexander Dunczyk married Joanna Eichstaedt on 11-13-1894 at St. Adalbert Church in Chicago. Alexander Dunczyk is listed in the Illinois death index with a death date of 4/26/1907 and age 37. John Dunczyk is listed with a death date of 6/9/1900 and age 60. Alexander Karch died 6/9/1893. He lived at 707 W. 18th St. in Chicago.
