The EIGHTEEN family of Reading
Dear All
In 1870, John (Cook) EIGHTEEN and his wife, Sarah (nee NORFORD) and their family moved from Hadleigh, Suffolk, to Reading, Berkshire. Harrod's Directory of 1877, shows John trading as a Fish Curer. John and Sarah had about 15 children, some dying in infancy, but it is from these children that most EIGHTEEN families today are descended. I am trying to piece together this family's history. Does anyone know why the family moved to Reading? My 3x greatgrandfather, George Alfred EIGHTEEN, was a young adult at the time. If you are related to any of the EIGHTEEN families, I would love to hear from you.
Good luck hunting and best wishes.
