Hi, I am your dad's first cousin Karen. Frida Moos was our grandmother and she was married to Leopold Hirsch. My mom was your grandfather's sister Anneliese Hirsch. She married our dad and is now Ann Glinert. I am now Karen Glinert Carlson. My kids are Kristina and Erika. I hope you will meet them one day. They are both married. Erika Carlson Knuth (Husband Christian Knuth) lives in Pasadena and Kristina Carlson (husband David Lehrfield) lives in Chicago. She has a baby Noah who is 7 1/2 months old.

Hi was your Lena Schick born in Iowa? I have Schicks whose mother was Magdalena (went by Lena); haven't checked all of the sons but it's probable that one of the 4 sons named their daughter after their sister and mother.

Did Jakob Einstein have a daughter named Julie, who married Jakob Weil?? Family history says she was a "close relative" of Albert Einstein, and I'm guessing a first cousin, meaning her father and Albert's father would have been brothers. Albert had a sister named Marie, or Maja, so Julie was not a sister.

My Aunt is Ruth Heumann.
Her parents were Isaac Heumann and Blanda Einstein from Buchau, Germany. Both were shot by the Germans in 1942.
Blanda Einsteins fathers 2nd cousin was THE Albert Einstein.
Alberts parents were living in Ruth Heumann Great Uncles house in Buchau when Alberts mother was first pregnant.

Do you have the tree going back from Blanda Einstein to Albert Einstein,,,???

I am researching GERHOLDs in DC that connect to my maternal DRURY line. This Gertrude is the daughter George A. GERHOLD and Lena SCHICK. Gertrude was born abt. 1903 (per 1910 & 1920 DC census).

The Washington Post, March 17, 1979, page C4:
"Einstein, Gertrude Wilma Gerhold
On Thursday, March 15, 1979, Gertrude Wilma Gerhold Einstein, formerly of Washington, D.C. She leaves her husband, Albert Einstein; a daughter, Dorothy Liss, and a brother, Thomas Victor Gerhold; she also is survived by three grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Elizabeth Green, Helen Money, George C. Gerhold, Henry R. Gerhold, and John F. Gerhold. Services and interment will be private."

Hi, I'm a Jewish Genealogist who recently heard about the Mormon Church posthumous baptism debacle, and decided to look to see which "famous Jews" were still in their records.

I thought some of you (particularly Einstein relatives) might be interested to know that the following individuals are listed in the Mormon Church's International Genealogical Index (and have therefore been baptized posthumously):

-Ruppert Einstein (Great-grandfather of Albert Einstein)- 3 records

-Rebekka Obernauer (Great-grandmother of Albert Einstein)- 8 records

-Abraham Einstein (Grandfather of Albert Einstein)- 6 records

-Helene Moos (Grandmother of Albert Einstein)- 10 records

-Jakob Einstein (Uncle of Albert Einstein)- 2 records

-Hermann Einstein (Father of Albert Einstein)- 15 records

-Pauline Koch (Mother of Albert Einstein)- 15 records

-Albert Einstein- 1 record (there seem to have been many more, but I suspect they were deleted, as per the original Mormon-Jewish agreement)

-Maja Einstein (Sister of Albert Einstein)- 3 records

Each "record" or entry means a proxy baptism took place.

Einsteins of NY

I am looking for info on Heinrich (Henry) Einstein who immigrated to NY in 1828. He was born in Germany in 1816. He had three sons born in NY, Morris, Isaac, and Louis. He died on 6/11/1890 at the age of 73. He was buried in Maimonides Cemetery (I believe it's in Brooklyn).

My great grandfather's name was Elias Einstein, who arrived in NYC in August 1848. On April 18, 1854 he became a citizen of the USA in Polaski County, GA. He was 24. He married a woman named Helena Springer and had 6 children. They lived in Macon, GA. During the Civil War he served as secretary to General Cobb at Andersonville Detention Center. He had been a cotton broker, but the war destroyed his business. In 1865 he was still living in Macon, but the family moved and eventually settled in NYC. This is a long shot, but here goes. Does anyone know of a Jacob (Jakob) Einstein or Frederick Einstein from the Chicago area. There father was possibly Heinrich Einstein who came to US (through NY) in 1828 with his brother Moses L. Einstein? Heinrich would have been born about 1816. The family was from Buchau.

Hi- my name is Michael Mont-Eton. It was legally changed from Wessel in 1970. My father is John Phillip Wessel, born Nov. 17, 1932 in Houston. I've been trying for years to locate
him, but my heart was never in it. Now, my children are pressuring me after the death of their other grandfather and the death of my step-father. Please contact me asap. If I don"t hear from you soon, I'll be doing a search for you. I ahve the names of John's Parents, but not much more.

Morris G(utmann?) Einstein, born in 1813 in Germany, may have come from Jebenhausen in Wuerttemberg. Both family names exist in this village, and marriages between these families are on record. Also, one Moses Einstein, a butcher, is known to have left Jebenhausen for America in 1834 at the age of 21.

I am looking for information on Rosanna EINSTEIN or her brother Elias EINSTEIN. Rosanna was born circa 1840, married Joseph Weichselbaum (Waxelbaum)of Macon GA,and died after 1910 in NY. I suspect the Einsteins immigrated from Wurtemburg Germany around 1850s. Her brother also lived in Macon but maintained a residence in NYC. Any leads to this family would be thankfully appreciated.

The information you have for Joseph V.Einstein is indeed the ancestor I am working on. I have a death certificate for both Joseph,Sept.3,1906 and his wife Amanda Davis,Jan.21,1906 from Harrisburg,PA. Would be interested in the information you have regarding their marriage. I do not have a date or location for this event. Any other info you might share with me would be greatly appreciated. Morris Goodman Einstein son of Joseph and Amanda left PA around 1904 and settled in Providence,RI and from there the family came to MA.
