I don't have much more info on Nicholas. The family was and are still mainly Mennonite, mainly in the Berks Co area of Pa., although some moved to Ohio. The family all believes Nicholas was from Switzerland, but noone has any proof. When Nicholas immigrated in 1732, he was 21, probably unmarried, and a check of other passengers on the ship show now obvious relatives. The passengers seem to be a mixed lot, some fropm the Palatinate, some from Switzerland. and settled in various areas, so it doesn't seem to have been any type of group. The name is variously spelled Ish, Eis, Isht, Eisz, making it difficult to trace the family back in Switzerland
