I have been e-mailing Sandy Read and we believe your Eis and our Eis/Ice are related. Jean (John) Eis and his wife Elizabeth Greff had several children. Some of which are Adam, John, Elizabeth, Joseph, and Mary Ann. Joseph was born Oct 14, 1820 in Forbach, Moselle, France. They were in fact ethnic Germans since they did speak the German language.
