Re: Eisele/Gopfert
I am Ernest Eisele's 2nd great grand niece. I have only recently gotten interested in this particular line..now i know why :)
Have you checked out the book "Covington and Community" by Fannie L. Eisele? was published in 1952 and the author, knowing we were related, graciously sent my grandmother (maiden name Laura Eisele) a copy in 1954.
According to her book, however, Fannie and Earnest -as she spells it in the book- were actually married 2-2-09. Just today I found Fannie and Ernest burial plots at Covington Cemetery.
Doing research right now on Ernest's brother in Charles City, Iowa, area--it was these two brothers that were established in the U.S. that encouraged/allowed their sister Maria Magdaline Eisele to enter the states from Germany.
