This will update my posting of 2000 with new information.

This Eiseman family came from Iffezheim, Baden, Germany. Alois Eisenmann and his wife Hedwig (Jakob) Eisenmann emigrated to America. They sailed from LeHavre and arrived at the port of Boston July 29, 1840. Traveling with Alois and Hedwig were three children: Benjamin Aliece (born Aug. 22, 1839); Rosanna "Rosey" (born Aug. 27, 1834); and Anselm (male, age 9 in 1840. This is the only record found so far of Anselm.).

Alois Eisenmann was born in 1803 in Germany (location unknown, possibly Bavaria, possibly Iffezheim). Hedwig Jakob was born Oct. 17 (1803 or 1805) in Iffezheim, Baden, Germany. Alois and Hedwig were married in a Catholic ceremony in Iffezheim.

The Jakob family were/are long time residents of Iffezheim. Hedwig Jakob had four siblings: Simon (born Oct. 29, 1802 in Iffezheim, later emigrated to America); Damien (born Sept. 27, 1800, later emigrated to America); Caecelia (born Feb. 6, 1796, remaind in Germany); and Maria Anna (born Jan. 29, 1789, remained in Germany). Damien Jakob's first wife was Edelberg/Edelburg Eisenmann (possibly somehow related to my Eisenmann family) from nearby Hugelssheim, Baden, Germany. They were married Aug. 16, 1825 in Hugelsheim. She died in 1840 and Damien married Christina Schneider on April 27, 1842.

In America the name was changed to Eiseman (and various misspellings). In the 1850 Census the Eiseman family are living on the farm of Simon Jakob/Jacob in Georgia as tenant farmers. By the 1860 Census the Simon Jakob/Jacob family has moved to Alabama and all of the Eisemans we have been able to account for had remained in Georgia.

I am searching for any information on the family of Alois Eisenmann, his ancestors, any Eisenmann family members who remained in Germany or traveled to other locations, and information about their descendants. I know only about the descendants of Alois Eisenmann in America.
