Edwin Eisenhard living with Singmaster's in 1850

I am trying to find out more information on who the Singmaster family was in Allentown, PA. My gr-gr-gr-grandfather Edwin Eisenard was listed in the 1850 census as being 16 years old and living with the Singmaster family. WHY?? The listing on the 1850 census for Lower Macungie township, Lehigh County, PA is as follows:
John Singmaster age 53 male farmer
James Singmaster age 24 male farmer
Edwin Singmaster age 18 male
Alexander Singmaster age 16 male farmer
Amanda Wasser age 18 female
Catharine Buss age 14 female
Edwin Eisenhard age 16 male laborer
Can anyone help me with this??? Another posting by me refers to Mary C. (Mamie) Eisenhard, who is Edwin's granddaughter. She worked for a wealthy family in Allentown, PA. Don't know the name of the family, but am leaning toward the Singmaster name, due to the fact that her grandfather lived with the Singmaster family, the Singmaster's were extremely wealthy, and also lived on the same street as Mary C. (Mamie) Eisenhard. She lived at 117 S. 8th Street, Allentown, and the Singmaster's lived at 143 S. 8th Street, Allentown. Can anyone help with any of this???
