I am descended from the "Fryeburg Elas". Mehitable is also from that line, which has been previously stated on this board.

I cannot find any information on William Ela, who was married to Lydia Oddway (or Ordway). I have a letter that was supposedly written by James Ela (my great-grandfather), which states that the progenitor of our Ela line was Joseph Ela who died in the War of 1812. However, I've done research at the National Archives and can find no mention of him in records of that war; nor can I find any record of him at all. In the introduction to the Ela Genealogy, the author claims that there is no connection, and that the Fryburg Ela family descends from a Joseph Healy of Dunbarton. Again, I can find no corroboration of this.

This is a stone wall, and I'm unable to find any further information. If anyone has any other information, please let me know. Thanks in advance.
