      <description>Hi Dale, I just spoke with Grace Elben in MD who gave me your name. She says you married her daughter. I just searched for your name +Elben and got to this website. I married Gary Elben and we live in CA. I have done quite a bit of research on his line, but would really like to know if the family was from Germany, Estonia, Czechoslavakia, or England.       <description>BELLVILLE: June Sleeva Gatton, 92, of Bellville, Ohio died Wednesday morning, March 30, 2011 in Lexington Court Care Center after a long illness.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Born August 26, 1918 in Fredericktown, Ohio (Knox County) to Rex &amp;amp; Marguerite (Speaks) Elben, she remained a lifelong resident of the Fredericktown and Bellville, Ohio area. June worked at General Industries in Bellville and retired in 1986 as an inspector with 27 years of service.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;She was a loving mother and grandmother and more than anything else, enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed boating and fishing for many years at Lake Erie with them. She loved attending all her grandchildren's sporting events and enjoyed her flower gardens. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;She was a member of Batemantown Methodist Church near Waterford.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law Carolyn &amp;amp; Ray Ogborn of Shelby, Ohio and Marilyn &amp;amp; Jerry Rhodes of Bellville, Ohio; daughter Sue Huffman of Bellville; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; a great great grandchild; and a sister-in-law Doris Gray of Akron, Ohio. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;She was preceded in death by her daughter Christina Barnes; a brother Harold Gray; three grandchildren and a great granddaughter.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Brenda Workman, Activities Director, Lexington Court Care Center, 250 Delaware St., Lexington 44904.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The Gatton family has chosen the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home for cremation services and private condolences to them may be made by visiting: &lt;a href="http://www.snyderfuneralhomes.com" target="_blank"&gt;www.snyderfuneralhomes.com&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Published in the News Journal on March 31, 2011 </description>

      <description>I'm looking for a Scott Elben who married Lillie D. Ratcliff Brown on April 11, 1888. They had two children: Jessie Bertha Elben (1889-?) and Joseph Mathew Elben (1890-?) in Iowa. I assume he died before 1900 because his wife and children are living with her parents in the 1900 census. </description>

      <description>Sandy:&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I've been in touch with Jack Morter, who also has Scott Elben, and Mary Elbin who had married a Morter.  I've not been able to connect Scott to my William Elben, who had married Ruth Fowler, from Northbridge, MA.  William's parents were, from information I recently received, were William Elben and Margaret Dush.       <description>I have your Wm. Elben in my tree. Would be willing to share what I have. Wm. T. was born in 1842- N.J. father was Wm. T. and Mother Mary A. ? Wm (1842) married Georgeanna Mann, daughter of Joseph and Susan Mann of Andersontown, Md. Their son Wm. Sherman married Hannah Truax Rash, their daughter Anna Mae Elben married Harry Cooper Hopkins....they were my greatgrandparents. I have other info if you need it. I knew they owned a mill (Ihave one of the old paper flour sacks from Tuckahoe Roller Mills when Fletcher C. Elben ran it) I never heard about the bootlegging...would like to hear more!!!! I also have an old picture of William Sherman Elben and his wife Hannah Truax Rash...he was either very short or she was very tall.</description>
