This is a long shot but just wondering if any one has researched the Eli (or Daniels)family in Gloucestershire back as far as 1600.

I ask because I live in an old Cotswold stone cottage in Westrip, near Stroud in Gloucestershire. The house is believed to have been built sometime between 1600-1650. The roof has an elm timber frame and on one A-frame the names ELI + DANIELS has been elegantly carved. Almost as if they were leaving their mark.

Just wondered if anyone had unearthed a Daniels or Eli - carpenter/builder – from around that period living in Gloucestershire. Thanks
