After much searching, I finally did a smart thing and got my great-grandmother's death certificate. Bingo!! It listed her parents names. They are Gesuelo Elia and Margaret Nicoletta of Italy. My great-grandmother was Concetta Elia, born on Dec. 8, 1866 somewhere in Italy and who married Luigi Varallo, some 11-12 years her junior.
