Surnames: ELIAS (VON ELIAS)
Update on this post: Nic Elias came to the U.S. in 1855 with another Elias - Balthasar. Balthasar also had his wife, Mary Kremer Elias, with him. Both Nic and Balthasar lived in Manitowoc County, WI at the same time. Balthasar died near there ca. 1878. Nic actually died post 1920 - he is enumerated in the 1920 census in Detroit. Still looking for information from Prussia/Germany showing Nic's birthdate.
