When did Christopher Frederick Elick arrive in America?
Where was his entry point?
My information shows he brought his two sons Jacob and Frederick with him and they were young boys.
What was the name of his wife and did she die before arriving in America? I see that his second wife is buried in the same cemetery with him.

My mother's maiden name is also Elick, from what I have found when immigrants came off of the ships and they asked their names the people writing them down never asked for the spelling so they went by how it sounded so from what I have found is that Elick is also Illg, Ilg, Elich and yes it was German.

Elick - died 1886 California

I came across a headstone at Woodlawn Cemetery, Santa Monica, California a few months back. I photographed it, and set up a memorial on findagrave.com.
I'm curious as to who "Elick" was. The headstone simply says
Elick
1886.
I've added a photograph.

My search for "Elick" has been unsuccessful. I'd like to add more information to the memorial.

Trying to locate information on a gentleman named William Elick who married Emma Cora Kirk/Steen/Elick about 1901 to maybe 1907. I believe they had some kind of Orchard or farmland in the Ontario CA area about 1907 or 1908 after coming there from Oklahoma. If any one can help me locate info on Mr Elick regarding birth/marriage/death/parents etc I would be most grateful. I have hit a brick wall regarding this union. I only know that he was her 2nd husband and they were in Ca in 1921.

I AM LOOKING TO HOOK UP WITH SOMEONE WHO HAS INFORMATION ON THE ELICKS FROM VIRGINIA WHO LATER MOVED TO WEST VIRGINIA. THE FAMILY IS JACOB OR JACK (1900 census was illegible on his name) it showed him married to Lucy J. with children as Mary M., Charlie, Bettie, Martha, Paul, Polly, and Ruth. I believe Ruth is Ruth Virginia Elick who married Charles May Campbell. They were from around the Stuarts Draft, lyunhurst, and Waynesboro area of Virginia. The cenus was Augusta County,Va.1900.Enuemeration district 39, south river.
FAMILY MEMBERS SAY THEY CAME TO U.S. JUST BEFORE WORLD WAR 1, possibly from Germany.
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATFULLY APPRECIATED.

My father was Winston Elick (born June 5, 1914).who lived in Lyndhurst, Va. He died two years agon in October. He was the son of John Elick who was killed when my father was just a very young child. His mother was Lillie Bryant. He had two brothers (Clarence and Raymond) and a younger sister named Helen.

I know very little about the Elicks, although I have tried to find out. I'm not even sure of the nationality, although I think it was German.

My father had an Aunt Polly who lived in Oak Hill, WV, I don't know if these are the same ones or not.

Have found his name spelled as
Elick, Ellick, Illick, Illig in various
records. Shown as Ellick on his Will. His
children all used Elick. They settled in OH
IN. By now their descendants are probably
scattered all over the country. Paul
