My grandmother Nora Subrina Elks b. 1879 Ky. and her family lived in these area's...........
Tenn, Fulton Ky, East. Praire Mo, Greene Co. Ark. and finally Muskegon Michigan.
Just wanted to suggest to all of you ELKS researchers, that you check the counties closest to the Mississippi River, because they didn't all put down roots....they followed the work, and most of the work was along the river.

My Grandmother was......... was believed to be half Cherokee indian.
NORA SUBRINA ELKS
b. 11-28-1879 Hickman Ky.
d. August 14, 1956 Craigshead Co.Jonesboro, Ark.
Married First.......1899- AUSTIN KEMP
they had 3 kids.
Married second - OLL "BERT" POLLOCK.
August 10, 1907 Hickman Ky.
She had 5 more kids.
Aft. moving around alot to find work BERT AND NORA lived in Centrilia Ill.
(ca. 1940) Nora worked in ST. Mary's Hospital, doing laundry.
Nora was also a mid wife,
and had delivered a lot of babies in the
Bono Ark.area.
They followed there kids to Michigan after wwll in search of work and While living in Muskegon Michigan,
Nora fell and fractured her left hip,
she died soon after of uremia, and pneumonia.
She was buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lorado Ark.
