I am looking for information pertaining to John, William (Willie), and Paul Ell. Apparently these three boys were on a large excursion liner called the General Slocum which sailed from NY in 1904. The liner caught on fire and 1100 people died. Most were german women and children who were on a church outing. Paul wrote a letter to my grandmother describing the event. In the letter he says his brother Willie was badly burned. It appears in the letter that his brother John and Paul were okay. According to Paul's letter, his mother was one of the casualties of the fire. This is considered to be the largest inland Maritime disaster in US history. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
